Good phone, good price, good camera in good light.

Rubbish & I mean absolutely rubbish in low light. I have one.

I still marked it hot because all in all its a good buy for the money.

Will the tmobile phone be cheap and easy to unlock? Or would it be worth getting the 02 version?

I think it's a fairly safe bet that these will already be unlocked, given that they are clearance phones and they are being sold on all networks. :)

Hot from me.. Just for the price...
#12
Just noiced that these are advertised as "silver" but the description states "NB: Handset Colour May Vary".
From what I can gather, this model was only made in two colours: "Metal Black" and "Pearly Rose". So is there really a silver model or are they in fact "rose" (ie pink !!!)?

Thank you for the advice - will hold out though until i can get colour confirmed from them because rose wouldnt go down to well this end.

Great phone, got it when it was 10-20 more from this same store a few months ago.

Just what I needed, didn't really need smartphone features but wi-fi is handy so this was perfect.

I kinda like the Sony Ericsson feature phone OS anyhow.

Pretty good battery life :)

That's why people want to know about the colour, memory, battery life & also the 5MP camera that is the biggest "feature" on this phone then. ;)

I have this phone, got it in April/May. I love it, does just what i need, has wi-fi takes a micro sd card (saved me having to buy a new memory card as a former nokia owner) takes very decent pictures, has apps for youtube, facebook etc. and yes it does come in silver. HOWEVER just over a month ago it started crashing and switching itself off, i'd have to remove the battery to get it to switch back on. It does this between 5-20 times a day now, so i'm no longer using it.
I'm not voting either way I just thought i'd share my experience of the product.
p.s mine came unlocked

Does this phone have a backlit keypad? I've seen pics and youtube reviews and the keypad doesn't look very bright. I know it's an eco phone so the keypad light might be disabled by default to encourage you to save energy, but if it doesn't light up at all it'll be a nightmare trying to use it in a dark environment.

Yeah it is backlit

bargain!
I have this phone and like it. If you are not after a a fully fledged smart-phone then this is all you need. 3G, wifi and GPS. gmail app and Google maps work well.
I bought mine (non clearance model) from e2save and it arrived unlocked.

Good features - good deal.
#21
It says in light grey right at the top of the page "Sony-Ericsson-Elm-Silver-Clearance-Refurbished"
#22
I'm just bitter because I paid 99 quid for one yesterday!
#23
To AndyW and all interested,

Have just checked and I think this deal is for a refurbished Elm - because the other one is still on offer at the higher place (£89.90 + £10.00 for T-Mobile SIM) with no mention of refurb at the top:

http://shopping.shopping.e2save.com/mobile-phone/payg/sony+ericsson/Sony-Ericsson-Elm-Silver.html

Still hot price though for this phone - I'm only buying here because T-Mobile don't have it as an upgrade and though a Mac enthusiast for nearly 20 years, I am not convinced by the iPhone... YET!
#24
But it says NEW... oh I give up... Can anyone tell for sure?

On the cheaper one you click the "What is clearance?" button and thie following pops up:

Reconditioned/Clearance Stock.

By using reconditioned/clearance stock, we are able to offer you even further savings across our whole range. These products are either ex-demonstration, trial or mail-order returned. They are not flawed products although they may carry very minor cosmetic marks. For your peace of mind, each and every product has been quality inspected by our engineers and reconditioned if necessary. Each product also comes with a full, one year manufacturer’s warranty.

Please note that reconditioned products are usually repackaged once tested and do not come in the original branded box. Reconditioned handsets will be packaged with a charger and battery. Other accessories and memory cards are not guaranteed .

"refurbished or a handset that has been returned baxk to us with 7 days in an unused condition"

This is what e2save say

hott

I've just compared this phone with the Nokia X3-02 on gsmarena and this comes out on top IMO. And I'm a Nokia fan.

They compare it to the N6700 and N79 - no idea if this is a valid comparison, but they think so.

GF bought this phone a week ago for £100, this is an excellent phone and a great deal! Heat added.
#30
only if it had a micro usb charger...
#31
careful with e2save when buying clearance and used stuff. if its not good shape, return process is complicated and expensive. so buy only if you want to keep it.
#32
dont forget quidco/topcashback

I received a clearance phone in the past which is much older than 7 months by the condition and looks of it. Be cautions while buying the clearance phone, however new phones from e2save are Good.

This is a great deal. These were £130+ a couple of months ago. I know because I was going to get one.
#35
As long as the phones in good condition this is a great deal!!
#36
It will do for my son!
#37
e2save credit card blocker even when you go thru quidco they text you to call them saying there is a problem with your credit card so when you ring order classed as on the phone order no cashback.
#38
though its nice fine and the function is ok on this phone but still it doesn't look cool
#39
Mine just arrived, its silver. i got the one on tmobile and it came unlocked :)
#40
I have wanted one of these for a while, but I have an ageing K800i, but it still works fine, so I can't justify spending more money for this.
