Hot deal, thanks :)

this may be a better deal, if you would rather have a bluetooth headset over £5 extra quidco cashback.

Does anyone have feedback on Coolnewmobile . I have read various reports that cashback schemes are a scam. If you follow all the T&C's does one always get the cashback?

#12
I'm very tempted, but can i unlock it and use another network before the contract ends?
#13
Have voted it hot but I have to admit I am scared in case they go under................worst case scenario ..................a phone but no cashback and a 420 quid bill .....which I really can't afford.
It is an excellent deal but it is fear holding me back :viking:

Nice phone. Anyone know how long these deals normally last? I need to read up on these chashbacks before doing anything.

You can, at any time.. may cost around £25 to unlock this model. Ebay could be cheaper :)
#17
Sounds like a great deal but I am too wary of the cashback system, especially when the location of their offices is far away from me.
I would advise to take this deal to a small local phone dealer and see if they can match it, I managed to do this in the past and they did + gave me a car charger to beat it.
Good luck guys!
suspended#18
it may be already unlocked, i got mine from phoneboxdirect.co.uk and it was already unlocked. lots of online places are already unlocked. nokia-free.org is where you can get unlock codes or cable+software to unlock it too.
#19
Phones 4 U told me they would beat any deal from other retailers.....do you think they will match this?????? I would be amazed if they did! :w00t:

It’s a real shame all the good deals are with coolnew, mobile outlet , phonebox.

Come on Carphone, please start offering again the best deals and onestop don’t follow in the above retailers terms and conditions under the ‘price match’ banner.

i would consider:

do i want a voda branded? preferably not
do i want to pay to unlock? preferably not
it doesn't allow port in, so do i want either to lose my old number or use it as a second line? no and maybe.
would the cashback be ok? cnm has been good, but you never know what might happen.

Hi I've taken this deal ( £35:00 pm Vodafone anytime 500 + £35 quidco)the phone arrived today. It was ordered on 28th May

The phone is not Vodafone branded

It is locked to Vodafone

Seal on the box was broken but all the items seemed to be in place.

Phone looks & smells ! great.

Camera is fantastic.

Navigator knob ( joystick ) in the middle of the phone is fine but not as responsive as it could be ( a minor problem)

Free Bluetooth headset not yet arrived hope its on its way.

Despatch note required to be sent with first tranche of bills is in a safe place
Spreadsheet to monitor when to send bills in is completed.

Took me a while to work our how to import the phome numbers from my o2 card but fairly obvious really ( do it in an unlock phone then put the new sim in your mobile)

Confident about the cashback if the terms are stuck to.

Would i recommend so far -yes

will I in 12 months ?

Should you ? carpe diem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpe_diem

Finally- had a call from o2 offering emergency cover on the old sim of 50 mins
per month and 25 text for 12 months for free if- Passed this on to low user mate

Is the phone shipped by CNM locked to Vodafone or Vodafone branded?
#27
KuchKuch, I have taken the plunge with the phone from CNM and mine is not Vodaphone branded.

Other points to note are:
i) ordererd online on the Friday before 1pm, giving a suggested delivery date of the following Monday/Tuesday. Phone arrived on the Friday, a couple of hours after I'd left for Glastonbury!!! Everyone I saw taking photo's with a phone was using this model, which really began to grate.....

ii) No pnone number mentioned on paperwork from CNM. The space for this was blank. Had to insert sim, dial a number, then 1471.

iii) Welcome pack from Vodaphone has just arrived. One week after connection.

Now the scary bit (if Edi or others can offer advice, then please do). Last night, before the welcome pack arrived, I went online with Vodafone and entered my details as I was curious as to how many calls I'd made and wanted to see if my tariff etc were online. When I'd finished, I got an email, saying thanks for registering etc, and a line saying 'Kindly note that you will no longer receive a paper copy of your bill'. But this is what CNM insist on to claim cashback. They do not accept online bills. I could find no where online to cancel the online billing and go back to paper. I think it was 4:30am in the mmorning before I got to sleep!!! think I'v messed up.

Phoned Vodafone lunchtime today, 5 mins on hold, then line cut. Phoned them twice tonight and each time their 'phone system' is down!!! Advised to phone back tomorrow.

Does anybody know if I can switch back to paper bills without any problems?

Thanks,

Nige

P.S. Nice handset though

Reverting to paper bill is not a problem but you may not be able to go online again. CPW also does the same ;-)

Edi, I can live with that, as long as my cashback claims go through over time:roll: Will report back tomorrow, once I have spoken with Vodafone.

My O2 contract on my k800i is about to end this month I think, so could I sell the handset with this deal on ebay, and use my current k800 handset instead as O2 give you unbranded phones? I guess the only downside is messing around with settings from O2 to Vodafone

Also I read that sometimes you have to use the handset given, but whether that holds any truth...

Edi, I spoke with Vodafone yesterday and yes as you rightly said, I can revert back to paper bills. A note had been placed on my file, although I will be a lot happier when I've received it.

Basically if I go through online billing again, then you lose the paper option and cannot switch back without going through customer servies. Guess I'll leave it alone.

Another question if I may, If I use extra services outside the Anytime 500 tariff that incur extra charges that appear on my bill, this will not present a problem to the CoolNewMobile cashback claim system will it?

Thanks,

Nige

Sorry, I'm not sure I can help. I'm due my 3rd bill from Vodaphone shortly, so have yet to submit my first claim.
Where does it say you have to state it's your first claim? and how do you go about this?
#34
Submitted my 1st cashback claim, have been waiting for ages and then decided to visit the website to see that the company has gone into administration and the likelyhood is that no-one will get their cashback claims honoured.
Gutted.
Do you think that the phone operators will allow the contract to be cut short with this info or are we committed to the full 12 months
