I've had this phone for 2 years...upgraded a few months ago to an N95 but still use this as a spare. This is THE best phone I have ever had - much better than the N95. I can see the buttons causing a slight problem for those with short, fat, nail bitten, stumpy 'sausage like' fingers !! Everyone else should be fine!:whistling: Voted Hot.

Use 'MyPhoneExplorer' to send & receive texts iif your beside your PC.

It's a FREE Brilliant Utility for most SE phones.

Loads of other features too.

No such a great deal when you can get it here for £59.95 on Orange subject to a £10 top up.

http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/pay-as-you-go/product.aspx?oc=PPORK800IB&trf=td3&tduid=1d0d80c556c13331813e1b0b0ae76a75

Im sure you can unlock it to any network so you basically get an unlocked phone cheaper (than the Play deal) and a £10 top up.

Ciao

only worth it if you want a £10 orange top up - id rather pay £5 less and not get the topup card

Normal?
Vodaphone K800i - its around £70, your only saving £5 from this Play.com deal.

Sim free this phone would be £129.99 from Play.com

They have not got better as they have progressed....you wanna try using the K850i, it is so hard to get used to.

As a middleaged bloke with average-big fingers I would say this is completely untrue. I used to send texts one-handed, just using my thumb. The 850i however, that was a nightmare, with its tiny Lego-stud buttons. I had the 800i for two years and it was the best phone I ever had - most reliable, best batt life, great camera, just did the job. . I moved up to a HTC with wifi and gps and all that tripe but that's because it was free and I'm a gadget nut, I rarely use 'em.

Thanks. Good deal but saving £5 isn't enough for me to rush out and buy one... Heat added based on the saving.
#16
Had my K800i for a while now and had no probs, camera quality excellent. Specially the Java Face Warp, good for a laugh.
#17
Had a K800i for ages, bought it from play for 149 I think. It's the best phone I have ever had, battery life great, ace camera, but if your used to a nokia it takes some getting used to, I am middle aged gadget nut also, but have resisted the temptation to upgrade :)
#18
how easy is it to unlock then?
#19
you pay for a code off a site to unlock them
#20
I also have this phone never had any problems either

K800i SUCKS B4LLS!, why oh why did I sign up to 18 months with this thing... buttons are too fiddly, menus are too slow, had the joystick became inaccurate after only a month (common problem)

Roll on October when I can get an N95 8GB
#23
I've had my K800i for the best part of a year, great phone good mp3 player(I've got a 4gb card in mine) & the camera is spot on. As far as the buttons are concerned, I've got hands like shuvels and I get on fine

good phone - but still expensive
i was buying theses at £40 in January and selling them on at £65/70 on gumtree.
#25
GR8 phone - awful Vodafone branding. These don't just need unlocking they need de-branding too.
#26
i have had this phone for 18months, the first 12months were fantastic but i had trouble unlocking it. Down the market was going to cost £20 so i did it direct with Orange ......... MISTAKE... it took over a month. Ive had 2 new phones since then, the lastest one they didnt want to fix the joystick so they sent me a new one which is a nightmare to get unlocked again.... Orange have no clue, i can only hope Voda are better! been waiting for 6 weeks now. If its unlocked by Orange the warranty is still valid with SE, i contacted them last week they said its completely ok for it to be unlocked by the network provider and you get a standard 2 year warranty which i didnt know...
#27
Orange has the worst customer service. Period.

Vodafones customer service is better overall.

I have a tale about orange but just trust me, Vodafone is better than Orange.

Can't you just debrand it with SETools? I did my W810i in a couple of minutes.
#29
This is the 2nd best phone I've ever had (Blackberry is no. 1), provided that you unlock it and debrand it! Theres alot of help on forums, just google it, but make sure you understand what your doing.
Price wise, this offer is not cheap, but not too expensive either. I'd go with the dial-a-phone offer though. If you use the 10% off voucher, it'll cost less than from Play.com and you also get £10 pounds top-up on either Orange or Vodafone.
If anyone has questions about this phone, pm me.
#30
its ok, but i got this for under 50, 6 months ago! still in demand but its been cheaper

the dial-a-phone website isn't working when you try to buy the phone...just tried.

This is the worst phone I have ever owned! It crashed and/or locked-up on a regular basis.

I thought it was just me, but 3 of my friends had exactly the same problem.

Awful phone!

WORST PHONE EVER HAD!!

I've had this phone for a year... I'm now on the.... SIXTH one in that year! Thank god I have insurance is all I can say! One phone, I had for a WEEK and the first time battery got real low, the screen went pure white and then died. Losing all photos of my son who was seriously ill in hospital at the time in the process.

I've had so many problems with these phones. Joystick sticking being the most common and most annoying. ALL of the phones I've had, developed this problem. Some of these within a month or so. Luckilly the phone I have just now, I've had 3 months before it happening. It'll be time to get a new one delivered soon.

Other repeating problems:
Constant crashing + rebooting itself. Cutting me off calls. Games sticking. Menus sticking. The one I currently have is a bit weird when trying to charge it. You've sometimes gotta put the charger in about 10 times before it picks it up! It's not my charger that's at fault, as have tried it on other phones.

Few folk I know that've had this same phone - same/similar problems. And EVERY one of them had the joystick sticking. Not one of us would ever get it again, or recommend it to others.

Although, have to say the camera is the best camera on a phone ever! (tho the "red-eye reduction" doesn't work at all). Better camera than the newer 5 megapixel cameras, I've tried a few and was shocked how better mine was on my phone! Was trying out mates ones coz can't wait to get my upgrade and get away from this phone. But cause of the rubbishness of the cameras on these phones, I'm at a loss which one to go for come upgrade time. Though I'd love to steer clear of Sony Erricson!

some people love it, some people hate it!
