The actual phone is £99.99 with the discount code PAYASYOUGO10 the price come down to £89.99. You can also trade in an old phone and get another £10 off bringing the price down to £79.99.

Not bad, but the Marshall Ward deal for the K810i was better IMO. After quidco etc, the phones are about £93.
#2
Yeh compared to the k810i deal. this is nothing.
#3
shyamk - please see my sig links for help on deals. I've added an image and the price and retailer to the thread title :)
#4
k800i is the same as k810i expect the look.
#5
Good find shyam :)

Yep

Only advantage the 810i has is battery life... which is highly debateable.

The 810i looks ugly too.. those buttons!!!

Huh? A slight contradiction me thinks.

my niece has this and the screen is beutiful

Voted hot as it's a cracking deal however I'm not too fond of the design of these phones they look too squarish for my liking. These have a 3.2mp camera compared to the 2mp camera on the w800x/w810x however they look better.

lol - that's why there's always someone for someone - I think the "ugly" buttons are really nice! :p

:)

The new phone k850i due out in Oct (5 MP camera) will have slightly different buttons, square buttons with rounded corners...

I am not going to comment in case I offend...

The thing that's missing with the K800's and above is the light function. Sure you can run a java program that turns the red-eye reduction on but it's no replacement for the bright white led of the k750i for example.

The amount of times it's come in handy is unbelievable.

Having to buy a new format of memory card is a hassle too :(
#16
Yeah thats a good point about the LED light I will miss that from my W800 when my new K800 comes in + also a new memory card will be needed - shame I dint think of all this before ordering one hey !?!?!?
#17
K850 has a light on function and a separate Xenon flash

The K800i has a Xenon flash which is much better than the K750i LED flash (according to on-line reviews anyway).

Are these easily (read: cheaply) unlocked? :)

No its neither cheap nor easy, do a search on eBay for "unlock K800i" to get an idea of costs (around £15 ish) and as far as I can tell its a case of posting your handset to them. Maybe you have a local shop/market trader who might do it for a tenner.

The flash on the k800 is great, many times better than an led flash. I've just got an N95 which has led flash. It's **** at indoor photos, whereas the k800i is almost as good as a proper digital camera.
I can see me using my old phone more than my new one.

Tenner would be fine, I'll ask around. - I doubt I could find this on o2 for £99.99.

When K850i comes out prices will plummet on the k800i and k810i
#24
I think we are seeing the prices plummering right now. I'm waiting for my K800i on a 12 months 'free' cash back deal, these only seem to happen on older models.
#25
just tested out the camera on the K810i WOW great.

Yes but that's all it is - A flash. I perefer a LIGHT to use as a torch which you can do on the K750i not the K800i
#27
You can get this phone 10% cheper if you tell carphonewarehouse to price match the phone
#28
The autofocus assist led light actually makes a pretty good torch - albeit an orange one - and the xenon flash is far superior to an LED flash. If you want a camera phone that can actually do the job of a half decent digital camera it has to be this (although I'm going to upgrade to the K850 when it comes out ;-))
#29
i agree about the k750i light, very handy, if the k850i has this then i might hold out until then.
#30
K850i looks ugly.

k810i looks very stylish.
#31
For every complaining about no torch light. there are 2 Java programs that are available for free download that solve your problem. I've had them on my k800i since the day i got it last summer.

Torch is a java app for the k800/k790 and works by activating the red led next to the flash. (you can exit by pressing backbutton)

Be sure to change the permission for the app. to "Multimedia" = No, or you will get a question about access to the camera every time you start Torch.
(highlight Torch in Applications > press More > select Permissions > select Multimedia > select No)

REALLY cool, I put it onto my K800i and it works perfecthttp://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/images/smilies/cool.gif
Download it here

The other program is called "Light" - This just turns the screen white. Not as bright as the above prog but is has its uses. If i can remember were i found it i'll post a link.

Yep you should be able to without any problem! However all the vodafone branding will obviously still remain.

Have a look at:

Not sure how much they charge but well worth considering if you get it.

Has anyone's quidco tracked on this after using the £10 off code as well? Cos mine hasn't! :-(
