Can it be unlocked to use on 3 network? Some of the pre-paid phones come with their sim glued in? Is it one of them?

Price in my post was updated as normally happens when a price is reduced:)

No offense but thread below got locked for being a dupe and this one is no different.

Just to add. Personally I wouldn't buy a phone with vodafone branding.

Ok it can be removed but more often than not this reduces the benefit of the deal and too much hassle imo.

col :- Price is updated in the existing thread if the thread is reasonably new & price change is not significant. Your earlier thread was posted on 20/01/2007 when Play.com was selling K800i for £149.99

Today, price dropped to £139.99 and hence the new post (after more than 2 months). Also, this sends a deal alert which is really helpful for many.

Hope that clarifies ;-)

Ok so if this changes price tomorrow does it warrant a new post? or only after 2 months?:)

No hard set of rules but commonsense prevails..........

Hell of a price IMO. Bought one just before Christmas on a contract as they were £240ish to buy on payg.

can anyone advise where to get this unlocked (not debrand) - having trawled through the web, it seems unlocking this phone has become an issue recently.... is this correct?

Ask on the Expansys forum. They seem to have a thread for every phone type going.

There was a problem, it is part sorted, but not completely. Some can do it, some that could, still can't.

hi.
new to site so please be gentle!!!just taken delivery of this mobile for the mrs.nice phone etc but would just like to add a point now ive tried to unlock it to orange.

rang voda 191 on mobile so it was only 25p for whole call, when i was about to revieve my n.u.c No(£19.99) he told me i needed to turn off my mobile(to reset it i think he said)told him i was ringing from the phone and said no good, have to be from a landline then!!! still with me?

so i rang from a land line(25p p min) and was on for 15mins before there computers crashed!!!!the new bloke told me to ring from my mobile next time!!!
grrrrrrr:x

so,i ring AGAIN from mobile and get through to actually someone very helpfull.informs me my details i had given before are correct and ill get my unlock code in post in few days time.that will be £19.99 then i said,he said no sir,its free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(may be because i hadnt regestered my phone at that point to voda)

get your code and put it in your phone and you can use it on any network then!so there you go,1st post and may be useless info to you but thought i would share it with you just in case.

p.s. when looking through the phone it didnt seem to have that face warp thing that my mates have on there k800i's!does debranding it bring it back???

My Vodaphone K800i is on its way and I'm going to get it unlocked for use on 3.
Just confirm the procedure to unlock this phone.
If I understand it - I don't put the sim in the phone and then I ring Vodaphone to say I want it unlocking and they send me a code in the post.
What info do they need from me when I ring them?

hi solid.
well, when i got the wifes phone it said in the book somewhere that if i need to check if the phone works then i txt a No(that is in the book) and they txt me back to confirm its ok.

i didnt do this incase i was then trapped in there tariff!may be wrong but didnt take any chances!the sim was already in the mobile when i recieved it!

the info you need is on the box, just give them that and your postal addy and they send it in the post.yet to recieve it yet so cant say if its going to work!!
told the bloke in a voda shop in town and he said any problems just pop into the shop to sort it.hope this helps as im not really into my mobiles! good luck.

P.S. DONT forget to ring them off the mobile(£1 credit on phone when you recieve it)as its 25p for the whole call then.
