Does anyone know if Dial-A-Phone, or, for that matter, any mobile site, accepts Paypal since I have funds I have to use up.
#6

Just ordered. Thanks to OP!

Also ordered, £59 after discounts for new K800i is great..

Was it OEM on in original packaging? Did a usb data cable come with it?

Also anyone used software at home to unlock it??

A little bit of searching and look what I found, a K800i unlocking guide on HUKD...

Thanks I have just ordered this phone. I have been looking for a new phone for a while. Always been an avid Nokia fan but have taken the plunge with this phone. I hope I am not going to be disappointed!

You shouldn't be, I used this link to get the SE Suite and Firmware upgrade on W880i:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/products/k800i?cc=gb&lc=en

Once a working Com port has been setup on your K800i via Bluetooth or the USB cable I HIGHLY recommend MyPhoneExplorer:

Great piece of software for any SE phone.

Nice ordered at 10:30am, dispatched by 1pm by what looks like RM SD, wonder if I'll get an accidental Saturday delivery like I have before :)
#12
Mine arrived after I missed out on Mondays delivery, all packed in Voda's packaging, locked to Voda, *#1345# telling me £11 credit already on the sim.

I might try unlocking this via the usb cable or paying a local place to do it.

Tried updating the firmware via SE Update software and told me it's on the latest firmware.

Looks like possibly the same system as Nokia product codes to each network. It might be worth googleing for changing SE product code or something along them lines.

Voted hot, my sister has one except a few things gone wrong with it incl random restart, camera crashing and joystick probs as usual with SE. Voda branded as this above.

People on youtube complaining that firmware update on k800i is buggy (joystick directions working wrong)
#16
Seems ok here, I'm still debating whether to unlock it using the link i provided above, seems alot of hassle but I do need it unlocked, tempting to just pay the £10...
#17
Where is it available on Orange?
#18
btw dialaphone are a great company to deal with ... if you can get past their automated customer service!

Hi

Don't thik this has expried.

Just ordered on on Voda.

Use DVCOUK5 code and get 5 percent off.

And don't forget the quidco of £5.

Brings the price down to £61.95 (and you get £10 air time included)

Hope that helps some folk.

Jim:thumbsup:

I have altered the op to use the 5% coupon and adjusted the price to reflect this, deal unexpired.

Thanks MikeT

For those with the chutzpah, if you call Vodafone 191, from a older Vodafone sim/account I recommend, they will give you an Network Unlock Code for free too if they believe you've had this handset for over a year... otherwise read up for the unlocking link I provided...

Still a great deal for £61 after quidco, 3mp camera, FM Radio, 8GB Capable M2 Memory Socket/3G etc... only lacking feature I suppose is 3.5G/HSDPA but for under £100 that's wishful thinking.
#22
A good phone at a good price - you're better getting a memory card for it if you can as with the camera being 3.2 mp, the files are a little larger and you'll find the internal memory gets eaten up with a few snaps - especially if you also use it as an mp3 player etc as well. You can get 1 gig m2 cards for around £8/£10 now (thats what mine cost) off flea-bay if you shop around
:)

i hate this phone, can't wait to get rid of mine... old and boring, joy stick became worn after 2 weeks. over 18 months old now.
#24
let up know if anyone updates to the w880 software and whether it's worth it.

Be carefull updating firmware because it will update the cid52 to cid53 and the cid 53 is not unlockable yet. So if you buy and want it unlocked dont update by sony ericcson updater.

I've had this phone for almost two years now, I usually get bored of phones after a year but have decided to hang onto this as it's a fantastic phone, had no problems with joystick at all even though i use it a hell of a lot

great price well worth it

has quidco stopped supporting this as all it says is:

DialaPhone is the UK's leading specialist supplier of mobile phones direct to the consumer. Established in 1995, we don't have any expensive shops to run, therefore we can provide you with the best deals around - direct to your door. We'll process your order efficiently and speedily and offer next working day delivery.

For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:
£60 for each contract sale with O2, 3, Orange, Virgin, T Mobile or Vodafone

ps does "CERV2974" or "DVCOUK5" code still work?
