That's not a bad price :)

Worth mentioning that you have to buy that with £10 air time which makes it £159.95 ... you can get -£5 via quidco, so £155 total.

my daughter had one of these...i think the best description of this and most SE mobiles is...RUBBISH !

FREEZES & CRASHES...are a very very common fault indeed.

I heard about the buggy software this phone released with... I would have thought that's ironed out by now. Can a owner/user comment?

I have this phone and 3 Sony Ericssons before it and it's been fine. the K850i is pretty chunky though and I'm beginning to dislike it for its looks after 12 months. I'd say it's decent value for the money if you can handle how chunky it is.

the tiny keypad buttons are a joke...cheap plastic and yes it is chunky...kinda brick like i'd say.

you won't be pleased when one morning it just won't switch on...my advice is... do not buy this phone.
it's not worth even £50 .

all i hear it's complains about this phone

If you wan't to throw your money away.... buy this phone..... I think this is really a Samsung or a LG phone badged with the (s)Fony E. logo.

Stay away from it until Sony bring out its successor!

girl friend has it - touch screen went once, freezes often and now the speakers gone so you cant hear people when you make calls now!
if it worked it would be an alright phone, great camera.

Is this not the C902 already out?

Yes it is, with the C905 8mp slider due out in the next few months. Most software issues are fixed with a simple software update that is built into the menu on all current Sony Ericssons. If people are too dumb to look into the menu and search for software update I guess they should have a nokia 1100. I would also point out that firmware issues are far from a Sony Ericsson problem exclusively. Nokia N series are plagued with even more, and no manufacturer are exempt from them.

i have this on orange and flashed it with generic software using da vinci software, also unlocked it, better performance now but still not happy with plastic dodgy built and the fact that the lens is actually laminated by a permanent plastic outer cover which attracts scratches and fingerprints and therefore affects the pic quality. I don't know what genius at SE came up with that idea!!

I'm waiting for the SE Xperia X1

I used to be a Nokia girl but I love the Sony Ericssons I've had so far (k750i and k810i). I like having a gadget that does everything, phone, photos, mp3s. My brother did have problems with the k850i but he "couldn't be bothered" doing the software update, which I do regularly on mine..so that kinda speaks for itself.

He's now on the C902 and big sis does the software updates for him when he's not around :) I'm jealous, it's a gorgeous phone and the photos it takes are fantastic.

The expansys forum is also good for any problems, and honest opinions of every phone out there.

I think the main bugbear with the k850i was its camera, and the keypad, as detailed here:

http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/sony-ericsson-k850i.htm

One good thing though, the k850i takes M2 memory cards and SD cards. Sony should've continued that with their newer phones, M2s are much too expensive!!

I have a K800i brill phone and less than half the price of this one. All I can see differnt is the camera is 5 mp instead of 3.2 and it has a better flash. Indeed read the above review and it even recomends you go for a K800i.

Well, in that review they actually recommend you go with the new C902 (which I'd much rather have) or the k800/k810. The C902 does take noticeably better pictures, I've tinkered around with the camera.

The k810 (which is essentially the k800 in a different case) I've got no complaints about, though, apart from the M2 memory card thing. Bah.
