Good price for this stylish watch

A pioneer innovator in Bluetooth technology, Sony Ericsson has developed a watch that does far more than tell the time. The Bluetooth Watch MBW-100 is a classic premium analogue timepiece with built-in wireless call handling and phone music player control. Integrated into your daily communication routine, it extends the boundaries of mobile communication by changing the very way in which you look at your phone.

Gain discreet wireless control over incoming calls and the music player in your Sony Ericsson mobile phone with the Bluetooth Watch MBW-100. It can be paired using Auto pairing if supported in the handset. The watch vibrates when it detects an incoming call, displaying the name or number of the caller on the OLED display. Notifications of incoming text messages are displayed, too. Incoming calls can be muted or rejected by pressing keys on the watch, and tracks can also be played or skipped on the phone's music player. The watch gives a warning vibration if you walk out of range of your handset.

Uniquely, the MBW-100 is an analogue timepiece. Quartz crystal movements keep exact time in a non-allergic stainless steel and mineral crystal design, giving you the benefit of both cutting edge technological innovation and premium classic watch design.

I don't know... I can think of a few uses for it that would raise it to the level of highly convenient...

It would, for example, be great insurance against the embarrasment of letting your phone ring in a meeting. I don't know about you, but I don't always feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, especially if it's in my jacket. But with a watch, that wouldn't be a problem. With this device, I would leave my phone on silent all the time, and avoid ever having to listen to my phone ring again.

But say you do get called up and you forgot to put your phone on silent. Being able to reject calls in a meeting, without having to go fishing for your phone is pretty cool... Maybe nobody will even figure out that it was you... ;)

Combined with a bluetooth headset you could listen to music on your phone and change tracks all with your phone in your pocket and without any wires. Handy if you're jogging, or something and don't want to get your phone out? I know i would probably drop mine...

So, yeah. All in all, it's a gadget of ridiculous excess. But it's not 100% pure gadget value... maybe just 95%.

Expensive form of insurance when just switching your phone off before you go in is the usual cheaper alternative. ;-)

Not surprised its reduced from £150 to £66 because its pretty much useless!!!!

Marginally useful in that you don't have to pick up the phone to see if you're got any SMS message but that's daft anyway because if you have, then you're going to have to pick the phone anyway. Same with calls etc.

The only value to this thing is what you'd pay for a normal watch that looks like that, and maybe £5 more on top for the Bluetooth gimmick value.

Thanks to the OP for posting this though - its interesting seem new products, so HOT!

This watch is actually made by Fossil. For more information click here

My bro has this, and the battery life is not so hot. Needs charging every few days, and doesnt have the audio controls that the MBW-150 sports.
#12
Does anyone know what the battery life is like?
#13
charge once every few days?!! That really does make it pointless. If they made one that had good battery I would buy one for the vibrate function!! No more missed calls!!

Nokia and Samsung Smartphones can now be connected with Sony Ericsson Watches

Hot, I ordered one.

To use the phone with Symbian, you will need this: http://www.sic-software.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=71

I guess it's another alternative for a bluetooth headset whilst you're driving; a copper would never guess that you were on a call!! :whistling:

Wild quinine does have a few valid points...plus the real good looks should be a good buy. voted hot.

if you have to still wear a BT headset , why not just get a watch that is a phone?.
Those are pretty much the same price nowadays (well for the chinese ones , which are better than the big companys efforts to date anyway).

had my eyes on the mbw series since they were first introduced .... pity I've never liked an SE phone enough to be able to buy the watch! good deal at £66

I take your point, but I think you're missing the point of insurance. It's for those occasions where everything doesn't go to plan! For example, when you forget to turn your phone off. It happens!

So in this case, you're insured against your phone going off in a meeting because even if you forget to turn it off there's a way to sort it out quickly and discreetly. :)

There's an app for that.

(disclaimer: there probably isn't. that was a joke. please don't buy this watch for your iphone).

Thanks for that Spencer, I've already ordered it but having seen your pics I think I may be wearing it around my ankle. Was your wrist as chunky before you wore the watch?
#29
Looking at the size of the watch you might as well save some money and just strap a mobile to your wrist! Then again, perhaps Spencer has a very small hand and wrist.....

Its a damn heavy watch ill tell you now!

I have big hands but thin wrist :)

Only reason i got it was because i could change my music tracks with my phone lol
