Truely awful phones. Even at this price. So basic. I brought one around 8 weeks ago and found it to be the worst phone I had ever had. And I am a Sony Erricson fan usually, so I didn't bother reading any reviews before buying. Thank goodness it was cheap. Even cheaper now as they are deseperatley trying to get rid.

Arghh I just bought this phone from CPW yesterday for £29.95 + £10 topup. My W760i menu button broke. It's a very cheap and nasty phone, just about worth it for £17.95 though, I wish CPW would take mine back but they won't. Sony Ericcson are really pants now, I bought a W760i in Dec 2008 and had a lot of probs. Wouldn't switch on last week so I reflashed it with the Sony updater software and it lasted a week before the menu key, number 5 key and the side volume key packed in. Was a good phone I miss it when it worked. I expect my W205 to last about a week before it fails, it really is flimsy. I considered getting a W995 from ebay for £130 ish, but with Sony's recent reputation with phones I didn't bother. Mate who works for O2 says stay away from SE, their firmware is hopeless now, just look how bad the W395 is for example. One last thing the Walkman is poor, the W760i had much better and more precise volume control, with the W205 you can either have loud or off. The speakerphone is rubbish as well, either distorted or you can't hear what people are saying. I really want rid of this rubbish, just waiting for the new batch of smart phones coming out soon.

I'd rather smash mine it would be more satisfying :)

I've looked at the exchange policy at CPW and since I've used the phone I can't exchange it. Fair enough though I suppose. I was just desperate to get another phone, too desperate it seems lol.

Good luck getting your credit with e2save - I gave up in the end.
If you follow all their rules (and it works) it can still take a minumum of 13 days to get the credit.
'Register sim card and wait 72 hours if that doesn't work phone them and allow 10 days for credit to appear'.
I gave up after about 10 phone calls and 3 weeks. It was costing more in my time and phone calls to premium 0871 number than the £10 was worth.

So don't expect to be able to use it straight out of the box without spending another £10 on credit direct with the sim provider.

I can imagine. No deal is ever easy with them. I used to always do the cashback deals with them but in the end it was not worth the constant checking up for missed repayments so after i got my money i never did another cash back deal,

I got this last December from Littlewoods brand new for £25. I used a £25 off voucher to get that price.
#18
Truly awful phone. Not worth any money.

A profit to made here then? use the £10 top up, go through tcb or quid-co for cashback to buy the phone ,and trade the phone in to tesco recyc or one of the others through quid-co again , abit of hassle but money to be made. 200 tesco bonus points as well as the money for recyling, worth £8 in deals , very handy for those meal's at the varsity , now they are accepting them @ 4x the value

not a bad phone for my use but had I known the manufacturers estimated battery life was complete and utter bull**** I would never have bought, brand new but even on stand by and with sending and recieving just a couple of texts I don't get more than about 12 hours. Way off what SE claim and enough to make me lose any trust in them as a manufacturer.
