**UNTIL THE END OF NOVEMBER, THIS CAN BE BOUGHT FOR JUST £44.99 WITH THE 10% OFF CODE ATTATCHED**

Play.com have the Sony Ericsson W350i walkman phone on Vodafone pay as you go for just £49.99. Delivery is free.

The W350i gives you instant access to your music. Keep your phone closed and simply use the keys on the flip to browse songs, play and skip to the next track. The W350i's Walkman player can easily be accessed and operated even without opening its flip cover. With Walkman on Top, key MP3 functions including Play, Pause and Scroll are outside the phone's flip cover so you can use it just like you would a standalone MP3 player.

I'd avoid any Sony phone...

I had one and it would randomly lock up or display garbled graphics on screen. I've met two other people with the same phone and they had the same problem.

The guy next to me at work had the next model up from me, and that wouldn't even switch on.

The girl two places from me at work has just bought a Sony phone and the bottom row of keys don't work.

Another friend of mine has one and when you press one part of the touch screen it thinks another part's being pressed, while another has the same phone and it won't even register touches!

The build quality on these things is shocking!

Edit: I'd point out that the above examples are from various models of Sony phone, but going by that track record I'd avoid!!!

Contrary to the above, I'm now on my 4th consecutive Sony Ericsson handset, having had a K700, K750, K800 and my current phone, a C902. Had very few problems with any of them.

Anyway, as for the W350i above - can anyone confirm how sturdy the flip of the phone is?

The wife likes the look of these (especially the purple), and was thinking of getting one for her, but she texts a lot, so the flip will be used quite a bit, and will avoid these if they aint up to the job!

I had one of these for a few days the flip looked a bit flimsy to me.

And the £59.99 one on their site requires a £10 top-up, so £69.99 in total.

Where have you seen this price, mess0804? :)

Yep, I'd recommend anyone buying this to go into the carphone warehouse or other phone shop and ask to play around with it. The flip feels very plasticky and seems like it would break off in long term use. It's more a keypad cover than a real flip. Also, just a word of warning, the buttons on the outside of the flip can only be used for the walkman functions of the phone. Personally, I would get the se w380 (i think that's the one), similar series placement but full flip, although it's a bit chunkier.
