Cashback : £360.00 cashback, to be claimed in 5 stages. Send them the claim form and original monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected on, that arrives showing you have been connected for 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 months (£72 claim each time). Go via Quidco for £37.50 cashback which is a Profit !!

Sony Ericsson W810i : The W810i features a one-touch hotkey to access its music player Disc2Phone PC software to rip CD's quickly and efficiently plus an RDS FM Radio so you can hear the latest music on your favourite radio station! Nice find. :)

I notice in the T&C this:

Where a valid claim has not been received by us within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date for your claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the Cash Back offered. Cash back files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases.

Administration charges
Due to the number of early claims, duplicate claims, incomplete claims and multiple claims, we will charge you £10 for each case encountered.

I'm sure they never used to charge a tenner before, also does the cancelled cashback mean that particular month or all future cashbacks as well?

Just a bit of advice from my previous experience with the onestopphoneshop they are a nightmare to get your cashback. i had to hassle them every day by using there freephone number to get my cash back.

If you think its a good deal, search on google or yahoo for people who have tried to get there cashback and there are loads.

Also try calling the customer services number which is not free and see how long you wait, trust me steer clear.

ive just done a search just put "onestopphoneshop cashback" and you look at the results there shocking, hope ive stopped people making the mistake i did.

i was told i sent mine to early, but i was only told to send it with my 4th bill so how could it be to early? They said they were sending it back for me to send again which i did not receive. I just kept on calling the freephone sales line and asked to speak to a manager, some days i did this for an hour but there was no way i was gonna let em get away with it.

in the end they did send my money but i wouldnt go back there.

These terms and conditions are new

They are almost IDENTICAL to those of coolnewmobile and phoneboxdirect.

They seem to be much more stringent than onestop's previous terms...:-(

This seems as draconian as PhoneBoxDirect which is worrying me as I ordered one of these yesterday as I didn’t want to take the risk of getting a W850i from PBD.
The Terms & Conditions now look very similar between both companies and they look so similar that it suggest a cut and paste job. Strange as PBD is not part CPW group whereas OSPS are!
I’m beginning to think I made the wrong call on seeing these terms and conditions especially if the whole cashback is invalidated if you miss one of them. If that’s the case I might as well have gone with the W850i with PBD as it’s a new product with 500 minutes versus the W810i on OSPS being a Clearance item with 200 minutes.

Thanks for the heads up. The problem is that there always people saying bad and good things about a particular company and the people with negative experiences usually shout louder. It’s difficult to get a clear picture.
I had a good experience with cashback with The Link and my current cashback with CPW has been even more straightforward so far. I’ve just moved and have no reception with 3 where I am so I need a new network. I’m going to look at The Link but they rarely have killer deals AFAIK.

It seems that these new T&C's are only on the price match deals as the 'normal' ones still look the same.

I've never had a problem with OSPS and there is now a cashback calculator which you type your number in to and it tells you when to send bills.
#12
I think they are price matching the coolnewmobiles and alike and matching their cash back t&cs too.. damn!
#13
From their point of view they want to give as few people as possible their money, so don't be surprised if getting your money back isn't a walk in the park. If you don't want that hassle stick with a normal phone contract, it's as simple as that.

On the other hand if you're happy to go through that trouble in order to save money you should factor all the effort you need to put in. You should always factor in the possibility of having to take that company to court, and the effort that involves.

Oh and of course be willing to take the risk that the company goes tits up come cashback time and you end up paying a lot more than what the phone is worth.
#14
Dont forget that being a clearance model you are not guaranteed all the accessories. From previous experience they wont come with the memory card.

I've just come off a 12 month CPW cashback deal and claiming the c/back was a nightmare. I got false promises to blatent lies, just because CPW is a big company it doesn't mean they're reliable. I'm still waiting for my first cashback claim which was put in, in time in AUG 2006!
STEER CLEAR.

Yet another case showing how variable the cashback process is for the same company. I have had a good experience with CPW and was surprised how quickly they texted me to confirm that they’d received my application which arrived without me needing to chase it up.
In some cases I wonder whether it’s purely down to hit and miss as to whom deals with your application. Is there an online survey whereby people can leave feedback as to how their cashback was handled? I’m thinking of a simple poll or even something a little fancier. That would be handy particularly if you could look at the results by year so you can see the current state of play for a company.

With regard to CPW, I think people feel more comfortable dealing with them or their subsidiaries because they are less likely to cease trading. CPW have had so much bad press recently that if I had a problem with them I would take it up with various media sources that focus on consumer rights as they seem to like reporting on the woes at CPW.

2 out of 15 said they were good and they were anonymus and seemed very similar to each other going on about the terms

I've already ordered this phone!! After reading everyones comments I'm getting worried. Should I cancel, or take the risk and hope I will get the cashback as they state. I've only ever used Mobileshop.com and have not had any problems with them. I assumed that as OSPS is linked to CPW it would be as reliable or more reliable than mobileshop.com

I'd have to disagree, I've claimed cashback without any problems for 3 contracts (myself and 2 family members).

just try calling the customer enquiries and see how they react, or if they do react?

Good advice, I'm gonna try that myself on Monday to see what happens before deciding on whether to cancel my order.

These conditions appear to be only for the price match deals as Shock pointed out earlier. The other deals still have the old t&c, which are very respectable.

They seem to be telling us that if we want our deals as cheap as others then we will make it very difficult for you to get your cashbacks just like the others.

Most people will buy into these price match deals and will not realise the different t&c since most people like my self never check. Four months from now, I can see hoards of angry OSPS customers coming into forums and telling the us they have been robbed.

This is so nasty of OSPS to inflict these T&C's since all their customers like myself are used to their usual t&c's which are quite good. I would never have found this out if I didnt come into this forum.

By the way, I always bought my contracts from OSPS over the last 3 years and never failed to claim any cashbacks, so for me this company had been reliable. But I feel OSPS is going to be a very unpopular company in 5 months time when most people who buy into these deals are going to mess up their claims.

Welcome to HUKD shahid.uk :)

There are scores and scores of happy customers for Carphone Warehouse. They are the 'best' for cashback claims with their 'most' generous cashback T&C's. Sorry to be blunt, there is little that can go wrong with Carphone Warehouse claims....
#25
One thing that can go wrong is you send two claims in one envelope - they will only pay one.

or sending the wrong bill for the claim... :)

Recorded delivery is fine and usually a text message arrives when they receive the claim.

Used OSPS last year on a 12m contract with 10m free via redemption, and thought the cashback was a breeze. Sent each bill in on time (not even recorded delivery) and had text conformation each time within a few days.

Does anybody know if i can still take out another contract and recieve cashback? and can it be with the same company and network?

Thanks
Andy

Thanks for the feedback & welcome to HUKD Andy :)

You are limited to 2 contract mobiles / retailer, I think.

I have to admit I've never had a text message from them.

They might be owned by the same people but the onestopphoneshop are rubbish. If the cpw wharehouse pricematch go through them.

Tell me this when you phone the onestopshop to buy a phone on there free sales line 0800 0 345 888 they answer straight away.

Then when you call there customer services on 0871 423 0404 you are placed in a que of anything up to 10 people which you can be waiting up to 40 minutes.

just try the numbers before you buy it will save you a lot of heartache, what would i have to warn you of this im just one of there old customers.
#31
Try 01270504400 instead of the rip off 0871 number :)
#32
After seeing the new T&Cs I decided to cancel. If I’m gonna take a risk it might as well be for a better deal than this.
#33
Like many other people I have had no problems getting cashback from OSPS and between my family we are now on the 6th contract.

People who have problems are ALWAYS the ones who shout loudest and therefore I don't think you could probably get a worse sample than just googling OSPS and cashback.

Yes they do make it hard for you to get your cashback but they do tell you exactly what to do and when to do it. Personally I think it is worth jumping through a few hoops to get paid for having a mobile phone with loads of minute and texts.

As for the fact that your calls get answered quicker when calling to buy than you do once you have bought and want to contact CS all I can say is welcome to the real world.

well said Cheap_n_Nicety

Do your bit and you wont miss cashback. Been claiming cashback since 2004 and with 5 contracts at the moment - havent missed even a single cashback payment !!

I had an email from OSPS - there's now six phones on 12 months free contracts with O2 (200mins 250 texts).

The phones are Nokia 6300, LG Chocolate, Motorola K1,Sony W810i, Samsung e900i and Nokia 6230i - all are clearance and are price match deals, so the T&C's are a little stricter.
#37
Got that too :)

E900 looks like a good offer and W810i is gone..
#38
back again in stock !
