Thanks for the pointer edi!

Even better, most of the 'CPW' clearance phones come unlocked. Would be interested to know if this one is.

Thanks ray

Will know it on Tuesday morning ... but I'm 99.99% confident it will be (as was my previous Nokia 6230i) :)

I bought from CPW last week (was £36.50 with quidco).

I can confirm the phone was unbranded and "sim free" (not just unlocked) - I have also hated branded phones. In fact I was offered £150 immediately from a collegue at work as it was unbranded and sim fee.

Thanks for the feedback cuffy :)

Did it arrive in original box or CPW's own packing ?

This sounded interesting, but I went for the E900 and then changed my mind as I'm not too happy with 'cash back'

Anyhoo, on trying to access my account screen I just received:

A problem has occured whilst trying to log you on to view your order.

We are aware of this problem and currently looking into it.

Thank You.

Which isn't reassuring, furthermore, on trying to contact them using their form, on submission it just took me to a blank page named something like form_validation - again, some kind of confirmation that they received my message would have been nice.. shall have to call them at 9am now to make sure they don't process me

Best of luck with those who went for it, I was tempted, but I'll hold fire for now

Sounds like a good deal. However, unlike CPW/e2save, you have to send 4 bills, instead of 3. I guess billing will be via CPW. It took them a week and a lots of phone calls and threatning e-mails to connect my phone (11 months free Nokia, 400 mins deal from a couple of weeks ago).
#8
Can someone answer this one please. Can i port my existing mobile number to this contract?:?

yes, but you must apply the pac upon signup, or contact O2 within hours of applying to put the pac onto your new mobile contract well well before you have recieved anything this must be done.

As schizo says, you can :)

While ordering, in the first screen you will asked about this.

I beleive the billing is done by CPW :)

Phone Spot order confirmation came from this email ID:

How is the Phone Spot cash back realiablity?. I have never had any problems with CPW/E2save cash back (except with one e2save 'automatic' cash back, which was 'lost' and had to get them to re-issue the cheque).
#13
phonespot is sister company to e2save and osps, and from what deals and the site layout, probably shares the same stock warehouse as OSPS/E2Save/CPW

Essentially, Phone Spot is operated by CPW via e2save.

It came with original sony and sealed box.

I was reading some of small print (always a mistake i know) are these definately reconditioned / customer returns phones - what has anyone actually received. thanks
#17
Mine was brand spanking new - never touched by human hands.

I too read the "small print" and was absolutely delighted when it turned up - much better than I could have thought.

I guess there are no guarentees but you always have the option to return.
#18
just ordered mine.

Thanks Edi. Received the following :-

For the purposes of this E-Mail "the Company" means The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC and/or any of its subsidiaries, which include The Carphone Warehouse Limited.

"e2save" is a trading name of The Carphone Warehouse Limited a company incorporated and registered in England and Wales with registered office at 1 Portal Way London W3 6RS, registered number 02142673 and VAT number 744032068

So I don't doubt the cashback process! Quidco tracked within the hour.

Thanks to EDI .
Paul.
Time for bed .

arrived today.......

1. Brand new SE w810i
2. All accesories sealed in original SE W810i box
3. Unlocked

well pleased :)

However, invoice and other documents were from e2save

They told me this morning that they are waiting for new stock, hope to have within 2 weeks (?).
I said cancel the order. They then offered me a brand new 750i with 512mb card for delivery weds. morning.
Seemed reasonable, so I said OK.
Anyone any ideas on that ? Should I have said " I'll wait " ?
Shall I send it straight back ? :) Or ......

Cheers.
Paul.

Paul :-

Apart from the dedicated Music keys there is virtually no difference between 750i and W810i (W810i looks cute though). I think you made the right decision
#25
Thanks edi .

I had really no idea if I had done the right thing

or not. I agree the w800i looks better though.

Let's hope the rest of the transaction proceeds

as promised.

Thanks for the tip-off.

Paul.

There are a few more differences than you think.

W810 has:
- Quad band
- Edge
- Full HTML browser (NetFront).
- Over the air software update.
- Newer version of SyncML.
- Light sensor (adjusts the keypad light according to the surrounding environment).
- Flight mode
- Has a better and slightly bigger screen
- Flash menu support
- Music Keys

K750 has:
- Camera cover

Overall the W810 is the better of the two I would say, Still the K750 is a great phone. Also from what I have heard and seen myself the W810 stock from CPW/E2save have modified firmware with Flash menu support disabled so you don't get the default fancy Sony Ericsson flash menus, This is easy to sort with a firmware flashed with the generic SEW810i firmware, Less than £10 to sort.

Thanks for that src and edi ,

It has just arrived but instead of a 512mb card has a 128mb.
I am going to phone them about this but can guess what they will say.
Now I am thinking - 'shall I send it back ?' .
The addition of a 512mb card was a clincher for me in saying 'Yes' to
the offered deal .
Any thoughts would be much appreciated .

Many thanks.
Paul.

Hi Guys ,

I sent back the 750i .

The whole deal was so far from the deal
I had ordered originally that I thought " Oh, blow it " or
something like that .
Never mind. It was well worth a shot .

Thanks to all .

Sorry to know that Paul. Whoever managed to place the order earlier (inc me) received brand new W810i. This is such a hot deal and is no wonder CPW is running low stock.

Thanks src :) I was merely pointing out the main difference between 750i and 810i.

I also received the email.

We are prioritising your order to ensure you receive your new mobile as soon as possible. Due to the current UK stock levels of this product we anticipate a small delay in dispatching your order. We anticipate that this delay will be no longer than 7-10 days.

Guess I will just have to wait as I don't want the 750i. Still think this was a good post though! Thanks again Edi.

I am on a 14 day wait for this, although they offered me a new package for £30 more. Anyone else waiting. Also what's with the Network wanting a deposit of £75 from me, even though I have a contract with them currently? I take it if the Phone Stop cannot get me this phone (I declined the alternative offfered), the Network should not be able to keep the deposit? Anyone had any expeience of this? TIA

Well although I have to wait 7/10 days I have not been asked for a network deposit. What deal did they offer you?

Received the following today...
Dear Nitro111,

We are pleased to confirm that your order has been successfully processed and will be dispatched shortly from our logistics centre by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Looks like they now have them back in stock. Maybe patience is a virtue after all, will let you know if I get a scraggy one tomorrow!

Got mine today - was obviously used already. Not very happy with that but at £40 over the year... I'll be alright with it guess :-)

What do other think - not damaged in anyway, just been used. The manual is in a terrible state though and it didn't come in a box.
#35
Received mine today also. Plain boxed with no obvious signs of previous use although the instruction book had been thumbed through.Unlocked & even a 512 card included so I'm happy. All I have to do now is master the cashback system. Thanks again Edi for the original post!
#36
Glad to learn that Nitro :)

Mine arrived in pristine condition & unlocked but no memory card though.
#37
Still around....

bump :)
#38
this looks just what i was after - have ordered one.

Are you sure it comes with a 512 stick of memory though?

rep added

Mine came in a white box, (not Sony),used instruction book, but I did get the 512 SanDisk Card, I really think it's potluck but still a great deal, 2g cards are currently cheap on Fleabay. Great Phone with/without!
Don't forget to ask for the free bluetooth!
