Sony Ericsson W810i (White or Black) O2 payg is just £119.95 delivered @ Phones4U.co.uk

Brilliant price for a brand new W810i + another £5 cashback via Quidco. Includes 512mb memory stick. For black version link, follow the comments.

Description : The Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman® combines a feature rich mobile phone with a stylish music player giving you everything you need for a mobile music lifestyle.

2.0 Megapixel Digital Camera | Bluetooth technology | Digital music player | Downloadable gaming

Getting music from your favourite CDs to your phone is made easy when you buy a SonyEricsson W810i with the Disc2Phone music copying software supplied. With the Sony Ericsson W810i, your favourite tracks can be stored in folders by artist or why not create a customised playlist. A 512 MB memory stick with enough memory for up to 20 full-length audio CDs is also supplied. The built-in Sony Ericsson W810i 2-megapixel digital camera with autofocus takes excellent photos, and when you need to catch some action, the W810i has video capture and playback too!

Phones4u as of today make it compulsory to buy at least £10 airtime with any PAYG phone so you'll pay £129.95 and receive £10 O2 airtime - but you must buy the airtime to get it for that price.

Not sure really...

Edit: just noticed ducky's reply :)

Aaagh! Where's the "Doh!" smiley. I caved in recently. It's a good job I paid £130.00 for one of these a couple of weeks ago!!:x
VERY grudgingly voted hot... Cracking price for a great phone.

I've bought quite a few PAYG phones from Phones4U. All the Vodafone's have come unbranded and unlocked; the last one I got was an O2 which came branded and locked even though it was the same model that I've been ordering as a Vodafone. YMMV!

My youngest daughter has this phones in white and it's the dogs danglies; certainly one of the better Sony's out there.

HTH :)

I've found most o2 phones come unlocked. Just ordered one from OSPS the other day and it was unlocked.
#8
You won't find a better phone for £120. Full stop.

Does someone have £120 they could lend me? :(

I believe there is the apparently unbelievable W880i on the horizon, hence these reductions? Great spot, OP!
#15
There is, think it's being released in march.
#16
I paid £150 for this phone in a sale on December 28th....

Voted Hot!

EDIT: You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to edi again.

Let someone else find a decent deal!!!

Hi to everyone on here and thanks for the tip off. I have orderered one of these little babies online overnight thanks. Can anyone tell me I signed up for the promo box thing where it said tarriff, free texts etc & talk time if i spend £15+ a month & reg etc. Can i just confirm as this is a pay & go phone does that mean I am still contract free, but just get the benefits of the texts/calls etc as long as I reg the appropriate fee. I really didn't want to be tied into a contract but the terms & conds not very clear if this relates to all contracts ie pay & go or not?

its pay as u go

3 questions:

1. Is it unlocked?
2. Is it this price in store?
3. Any airtime come with it?
(sorry if these questions have already been answered)

Ben

1. Don't know if its unlocked yet -you'll have to wait to see what people say when they receive it.
2. No idea of instore price
#23
and sorry 3. in terms of airtime.....

Phones4u as of today make it compulsory to buy at least £10 airtime with anyPAYG phone (maybe 1 or 2 handsets excluded from this) so you'll pay £129.95 and receive £10 O2 airtime - but you must get the airtime to get it for that price. Carphone warehouse have been doing this for ages and it looks like phones4u are jumping on the bandwagon.

But you still get £5 back from quidco and i'm sure you can get £8/9 for the SIM and airtime on ebay (if your not on O2) so this is still a good deal.

This condition wasnt there when the offer was posted yesterday. Looks like Phones4U had a pitfall ;-)

I know , I just hope The Link don't go and start this now too seen as CPW and P4U are both doing it!

Just wondering if the airtime is like tied to the O2 SIM they supply (i think thats the way CPW do it) or is it just a £10 normal O2 voucher
#26
probably mob companies getting anoyed at paying out substantial subsidies on phones that are never connected.

The LG KG810 I bought last week for £89 is £279 sim fre from the Phones4u. I know mine is a 7 day return, but that's still a massive difference that has to be made up in part by the telecom - as the original return would have been a complete loss for them.

Just wondering - what's the advantage of getting this PAYG phone for £100+ rather than the same phone on a contract for £40 a year (after Quidco and other discounts?)

Always been a puzzle to me so was wondering if someone could explain!

Thanks!
#28
less hassle and freedom to chop and change I guess. Plus many outside this forum are oblivious of the benefits of services such as Quidco - so for them this would represent a very good deal. And personally I could afford a one of hit of £100 then say £10 a month on phone credit, but couldn't justify £30 a month whilst waiting for cash backs.
#29
I think every phone you buy from phones4u, especially on offer, you have to purchase with £10 airtime! Didn't bother me, meant my W810i cost £149.95.

The W880, feature wise isn't as good as the W810i. The music player is apparently inferior to the W810i, the camera doesn't have autofocus, battery life is shorter and it doesn't look like it has a light/flash for the camera. Oh and they have removed EDGE and the IR port.

It is a new thing - I've made a fair bit reselling their handsets. This won't stop me though as long as the £10 isn't tied to that phone :whistling:

£10 top up means Im not getting one now cos Im on o2 contract already. Can't justify £130 it when k750i is half that.

Fair enough! I went for the cashback option and very happy with the handset... especially as it's only around £3.33 a month on a CC where I have interest free (whatever you call it) transactions until 2009!

Unfortunately no, just like CPW they insist on putting the £10 onto a SIM card tied the number:x but hey it is still £10 useable credit so......
#36
Many thanks to edi for the great steer on this deal. Got mine this morning, popped in my Virgin sim card, worked no problem at all (so phone is definitely unlocked). I'd ordered it before the need to purchase the £10 O2 airtime so for me this rates as a true bargain. Only issue is that my Quidco seems to have tracked as a £1 return from a £5 purchase:? ... but I'll just submit a query to rectify that. Cheers again:thumbsup:
banned#37
Have you read that right? - it should read as a £1 purchase with a £5 earnings. I haven't had a P4U quidco purchase fail to track or payout yet.

a lot of people are vey sceptical of the cashback and whether you actually get it

i seem to read a hell of a lot of posts about it going wrong

if you only use a couple of quid a month in credit then it may not be worth the risk of £30 per month

when i next move and probably get rid of the landline
il try one of the £30/month then cashback deals
as id be happy to then pay £30/month with any cashback just being a bonus
