If you are an existing Virgin mobile customer you can get the S.E. W810i walkman phone for £64.98 delivered. To get it at this price you need to have registered your mobile number with them and then go to log in to your account, click on your mobile number and then your rewards with red, click at the bottom of the page where it says buy a phone and then select W810i from next page, it will have automatically reduced the price from £79.99 to £69.99. Comes with £20 airtime, don't forget the £8 Quidco.

 Thank's emmajk42, don't know why it wouldn't work but sorted now.

Great all round phone, plus they'll unlock for free if you've spent £30 previously on airtime.

It's worth asking if they have these in stock from the recon range (stock is usually perfect just different box and only 6mths warranty) as I picked on of these up from Virgin for only £38 delivered last month.

I've had the w810 for years and it really is, imo, the perfect combination of size and performance - plus now that duo cards are so cheap you can stick a 4GB card in there for about £30 and you have something (with the right headphones) that sounds so much better, and easier to use, than an ipod.

Note that, despite this being a "Walkman" phone, it does not support the AD2P protocol for wireless bluetooth stereo.

Personal note: I find this a horrible little phone. It's too small for people with larger hands (note, this probably included most men). I hate using my wife's one. Great camera on it though.

how do you get it down from £69.99 to £64.98.

It is showing up at 69.99 without being a member anyway WITH £40 FREE CREDIT.

It looks like the deal has got even better.

#7

W810i

Subtotal (including VAT): £69.99
Delivery: £2.99
Order total: £72.98

less the £8 from Quidco = £64.98

Read the T & C's = up to £40 credit. This one is £20 credit

Read the T & C's = up to £40 credit. This one is £20 credit. Thanks for pointing that out ,i thought it was too good a offer with £40 credit.

How does the free credit work with this? Looking to get a new Virgin PAYG for the other half as she's already with them, is it an airtime voucher or is the credit loaded onto the new sim supplied with the phone (which isn't much good if you want to keep your number)?

Phones come with an airtime voucher.

The LG prada at 140 looks good (£40 free), as does the 5200 at £40 with £20 plus 1Gb card free. The best offer would be the 2310 for £10 with £10 free & £8 quidco... but alas none left!

are virgin payg phones usually locked to virgin?

Yep I would very much think so, its likely going to be virgin branded too but still this is an OK price, got this same phone direct from Orange for the same price earlier this year. :santa:

is there a specific number to call to find out about recon phones?

Please do remember that for another £7.00 you can get a new phone:
i.e the new phone comes with £20.00 of air time = £64.98
Refurbished phone = £38.00 with no air time

Saabu.

Excellent phone -- had mine for 14 months.
This looks a great deal

Only negatives I've been able to come up with about this phone are :

There isn't a 3.5" headphone jack - it uses a Sony proprietary adapter (which you can then plug your 3.5" lead into).. too much hassle to carry it around

My wall charger no longer works (but then I have had it for over a year). However I can still charge using the supplied USB lead

The camera is average - but I've yet to find a camera on a phone that I'm happy with

When the deal was first posted it indicated that the phone was £10 less becuase you're using a red reward. I think it's £10 less because no SIM card is included. It's £79.99 with a SIM card. Not a problem for most but please be aware of this.

:santa: I have just bought my son this phone from the virgin website It cost us £62.98 and we got £20 free airtime
We got a £10 discount for using the red reward that we had earned and then another £10 discount for upgrading and not requiring a sim card So in essence you could say it is a £40 discount as long as you have earned the red rewards and you are an existing virgin customer and do not need a new sim. My lad is over the moon with the phone and I am more than happy with the discounts. I'm thankfull that the guy in o2 was a bit of an **** when I went to o2 store to check a previous deal for this phone that was posted as a deal on Friday and I left without buying the phone from o2 LOL
