I can't believe no one has posted yet to say what a great deal this is . I'm not jumping on this because I got the OSPS Nokia 6300 deal last week but voting hot never the less.

I'm assuming it's a new phone, edi? Also any feedback on PBD? Might seal the deal for those contemplating ordering one.

Is this a better or more reliable offer that the one available on coolnewmobile?

How easy is it to do one of these deal's regarding the cashback? I mean, is it something you have to stress over every month?
#6
amazing deal just got one
#7
grt deal but..................

the thing i hate about pbd is their cashback terms- take for instance i sent my bill a few days early and pbd returned it and fined me £10- what a cheek!

the funny thing is in their terms it states that cheques will arrive within 28 days.... but it takes them 3 months for them to bloody send the chqs! i should fine them for sending the chqs late!!!!!!!!!!!!
#8
excellent my fella just ordered
#9
Is it possible to take ones off these phones then swap out the sim card for a Pay as You Go 1 then you wouldn't have a monthly contract bill?
#10
I ordered a new 12 month free contract phone from PBD this afternoon - just checked quidco and it's tracked at £30, hope I receive this too!

Slightly o/t but does anyone know if you can add the web 'n' walk to the T-Mobile deals after you've purchased one?
#11
All claim information is supplied to you at the point of purchase. However to assist, we do hold your data on our system, for ten working days after your connection. Unfortunately we do not have the resource to answer queries outside this timeframe.

just seen this in there terms and conditions ,does this mean that you canot ring them to chase your cash back? thanks ian

Great deal for a good contract and excellent phone (got it for the mrs 6 months ago with only 6 months free on 12 months) - shame that I am already in to PBD / CNM for 900 quid (less 96 quid 1st cashback with arrived today only 1 month late) and given they are currently paying claims very slowly and are late with quidco I can't risk any more contracts with them :-(
#13
Is it possible to lose cashback completely if for example you forget to make one claim or the first claim?
#14
I have been watching these 12m free contract phones since I discovered HUKD late last year. A fortnight ago I put my 3yr old £265 (then) Razr V3 in the washing machine so it's time to make a choice.

I spent the last 24hrs trying to decide between the Nokia 6300 deal and the W810i. Then I came home tonight to find this new offer, my mind quickly made up I too have committed to my first contact phone and cashback deal.

I sure hope together we can make it work properly because I don't relish the prospect of a further £420 down the drain in just 12 months (so to speak).

Absolutely!! You'll lose the whole future cash-back installments - which is the way they make profit out of this!
#16
It's a very nice deal if you get the cash back. All you need is to be orignized and a big faith that phone company will honor the cash back.

I went with voice 500 from 3 (15 a month for life, 18 months contracted 500 minuted). I paid 50 for the w850i but i got blue tooth headset and will get 75 from quido. i also have free msn and ebay and some free tv clips and weather, not bad. Great phone nice plan.

Sorry cant trust cash back and cant trust voda :)

Phone is good but this is my first slide phone and trying to get used to it.

Welcome to HUKD orangelemon, Nero182 & contract :)

Is this a better or more reliable offer that the one available on coolnewmobile?

Dont think CoolNewMobile does similar W850i offer... Did you mean W810i ?
#18
My quidco has tracked within 30 min and at £30 too!
#19
obviously a great looking deal but i'm going to keep away due to the fact that the company operates from a po box address. i'm always wary of that. you may get the phone but can you ensure you' can trust them to pay cashback? also, a newly established company may go out of business which means no chance of getting the cashback.

coolnewmobile appear to be the same company - they operate from the same address.

BIG 'NO'.... :)

You are committing to a 12-month minimum contract with Vodafone to get a fixed monthly call allowance + Free W850i handset. If you then decide to swap with a PAYG SIM (should be Voda PAYG SIM or W850i should be unlocked to all network) your contract will still be running and monthly payments going out via DD.

look, i have been on an entire 12-month deal of exactly this nature.

it IS a scam, albeit one which is possible to complete in your favour, but make no mistake it is VERY hard to do.

you must abide by their rules to the absolute letter, and if you mess up once, its all over. this means you have to get them certain, specific pages of your bill in a very specific time window, and you may not send them recorded delivery as they wont sign and/or send them back. you also may not use a courier as i tried, as they use a PO Box number which couriers wont deliver to.

they make it extrememly difficult to do, in small, niggly ways, and if you do undertake this "deal" then i wish you the very best of luck.

Welcome to HUKD llywmog :)

PBD is not a new site. Operating since 2003; PBD is a part of Caudwell group to which CoolNewMobile is also associated. Most mobile sites including Carphone Warehouse dont offer door no. for postal address... Sites going out of business is a risk with all cashback sites, the degree of which varies.
#23
I have had a contract with PBD which ended in Feb this year. I have received 4 cashbacks so far (last one is due anytime now). The only problem with this company is they take some time to post the cheques and you might have to email or call them to check whats happening.

this is not true at all. I have sent all my original bills by recorded post and never has it been returned. Are you talking about a different company?
#25
Thx edi, i jus saw this and thought i can't wait to post this and see the temp go through the roof, but you beat me to it! For the sceptics, yes there's risk attached, but i can personally vouch 4 them, i've had 4 out of 4 cashbacks from them and 5 out of 5 from their sister company CNM so i personally would have very little hesitation to go with them. As always, be organised and u should b quids in.

Just a quick question. In the terms and conditions it states that the first cashback claim is done in the 4 month e.g. new phone at 1st jan need to send claim on the 1st may. But it also states it takes a month to process a claim therefore should you send your claim off in the 3rd month not 4th month or is it just stating that when you send the 4th month bill off it takes a month from that time?
Thanks for your help.

If you look at all the other phones they are doing http://www.phoneboxdirect.com/cphones.asp there are some really good phones, i'm definately going to give it a go, they can't be any worse than e2save.
What do you guys think is the best phone/deal in that list?

I'm either the LG white chocolate, Nokia 6300 or Samsung E900

" PBD is a part of Caudwell group to which CoolNewMobile is also associated."

Neither are part of the 'Caudwell Group'. They are just trading partners. You could be a trading partner of the caudwell group too by just buying something from the group.

Incidently the Caudwell Group no longer exists anyway, it's been broken up.

"If you look at all the other phones they are doing http://www.phoneboxdirect.com/cphones.asp there are some really good phones, i'm definately going to give it a go, they can't be any worse than e2save."

It's ALOT worse than e2save. With e2save, firstly they're alot less likely to go bust. If you send in the wrong stuff at the wrong time, e2save write to you, saying you've made a mistake and to send in the correct stuff at the correct time. If you do this with cnm, or pbd, you lose ALL of your cashback.

e2save often have 'Automatic Cashback' on offers which can be as much as over £100 after the first two months of connection. Therefore, when e2save has a similar deal, within the first three months, you can be given more than you pay in line rental for the whole year.

For example, say this phone is worth £200. If you go with e2save you get, a £200 phone + £40 cashback + £100+ (automatic cashback) in around three months. With these other companies, you get the phone £15 cashback and the possibility of losing all your cashback. I guess it's worth a punt if you sell the phone.

On 26 September 2006, it was announced that the Caudwell Group had been sold for a sum of £1.46 billion to private equity firms Providence Equity Partners and Doughty Hanson.

Are you kidding?! You should go over to MSE and look on the mobiles forum. Look at any other mobile cashback companies other than E2save.com, onestopphoneshop and dialaphone and you'll see a trail of very annoyed people who either didn't following these companies 1,000,001 rules to the t or they still haven't received their cashback more than 3 months after claiming. Some of the threads even have representatives from the company posting to them and it's still not helping.

I have repeatedly said it on this board that people should steer well clear of companies like this because you are gambling with your money.

If you mess up the first claim then you automatically give up the right to claim any more cashback from then on. What kind of rule is that?

They're all sharks.

As I said, e2save, onestopphoneshop and dialaphone are the only ones you can trust. I think there's also another one run by the carphonewarehouse (onestopphone shop are) but I can't remember it. But you'll know because their deals aren't as good as these other sharks!

You've been warned!

hey guys..ive been with PBD since last july 2006....my contract will end this july 2007.....thats a 12 months contract...ive got 2 out of my 5 cashback deals so far.just waiting for the third casgback..they pay cashback in 5 instalments..first one is after 4 months, then 6, then 8, then 10 and finally 12 months...i am a very organised person so its important that you set yourself reminders as to when to send the bills and at the time they have said. if you send the bill early you have to pay £10 fine...lol!! i think its is...bottom line is they do pay up, be it after at least a month after youve submitted your bill...its important that you are organised..so if you decide...to go with them ..good luck..thoought id tell you guys what i think of them...also it is important that you send the cashback claim via recorded delivery, as its proof that you have sent it..
#33
If you do your bit, I'm 100% sure, you'll get your cashback. Need to be bit 'organised' though to send the right bills on time and by recorded delivery...

Although I havent had any contracts with PBD, 5/5 claims were successful with CoolNewMobile. You are aware of the T&C's and hence strictly adhere to it.

In the majority of cases definately!

however if plan on selling the phone, look out for deals where there's free line rental etc and the phone is worth over £200 on ebay.

That way if you do go for it (with ebay hassel) you only risk about £100. Still a gamble but not a bad risk to take.

if you send the bill early you have to pay £10 fine...lol!!

Did you know that those charges are illegal? Are these the same guys that charge a cancellation fee if you cancel within the DSR? Again that's illegal too. These companies earn the name shark.

Absolutely, that would invalidate all your cashback claims for the year.

mobileshop.com used to be good but now they are making it more difficult by having 6 cashback claims to be submitted. That said they are very prompt with the payments.
#37
You only have 14 days to submit your claim with PBD whereas with CNM it 30 days, so if your bill arrives late you could miss the claim deadline
#38
man those are really bad terms. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I couldn't say it louder.

any one know is this unlocked if not unlockable
will i be able to port different number later not when purchasing the phone
