What, like this one at the same price?

http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/offer/discount?handset=9&position=0

You should also be able to get £5 Quidco too.

Lol, yeah, that's it.

The price is misleading though because you have to buy at least a £10 top up.

Is this fone anygood?
#6
No good for people with big hands, no radio, no flash.

Good price, but i think I'll be sticking with my K550i for the mo.

lol, its not misleading at all because you always have to buy a top up at orange... also the £10 is technically for the topup not for the phone... So £48.50 is the right price for the phone :)

The first i'd want to do is unlock it and stick another SIM in it so an extra tenner is an unnecessary extra expenditure with me not using Orange.

You can use the £10 you get with it or you can give it to a friend or loved one... etc its still £10 worth of credit so it might as well get used, Unlocking usually costs about £10 for the handset at most decent phone shops, its usually a CID52 DB2020 handset. As the phone gets flashed anyway you can normally get it debranded at the same time... Its a good looking phone and has been quite popular has dropped in price due to the W890 which is a little more solid, you do have to be carefull with it though, its very very thin :)

Still not ideal. No one I know is on Orange...lol.

This is a great phone. I had one and now sprog has the black version. Small enough to fit in your pocket but still a robust phone.

I go the cinema alot so orange would be decent with orange wednesdays i guess, otherwise i would put it on o2 who im with at the moment.

And also as a product designer its a very nice sleek design, would be nice if o2 seen orange where doing this and reduced it to keep up with the competition.

I've just got a W580i off Littlewoods for about £38 all in and it's superb. The RDS radio is well worth having. The pedometer is quite good too.

I just had one of these for 18 months and it still works brilliantly.

I'm a big guy and the buttons were a little difficult to get used to at first but certainly not something you'll get used to after a week or so. Walkman phone too and the 1Gb card supplied is enough for around 250/300 songs and as it's so nice and slim it's very portable.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't take enough care of my phone as it gets chucked about alot and i've seen it survive alot of drops and knocks and even got stood on at a gig we played once, still completely in tact apart from one piece of chipped plastic on the bottom corner.
#17
Bought this purely because of the size, I hate the feeling of things in my pockets. I got pretty fat fingers but i'm use to texting on it now, at this price it's a steal :)
#18
Good phone (although the Nokia 5310 is arguably a better music phone as it has better sound) with a nice screen, ok buttons, Walkman 2.0 player, a nice size and grip like finish on the back. For this price it is excellent. Awful camera though, seriously poor.

Comes with some high quality Sony in-ears and a good hands free which allows you to use yr own phones if you want.
#19
Not the greatest phone in the world but excellent price.

The OP is right for not including the £10 top up as part of the actual price, as the likes of CPW don't, but SHOULD have mentioned that the purchase of a top up voucher was required in the title however.

Voted HOT.

I agree with RedonRed. The heading is misleading since you cannot purchase the phone without the £10 top-up, therefore, it should have been included. Not everyone is familiar with Orange's T&Cs.

As I understand it, EU rules have forced mobile operators to unlock all their mobiles when requested (although there may be a chaqrge for doing this).

description reads "Minimum £10 top up required". its a 5 line description, so I preferred not to make the title unnecessarily long. but thanks for the tip

For my daughters 13th birthday.

She is over the moon.

I got it unlocked and debranded for £10 and slammed in her 02 sim.

Great little phone for the money. I kept the £10 orange sim just for orange wednesdays etc and will use up the £10 credit over time.
#23
Good little phone this, nice and light. Easy to unlock and unbrand yourself for free if you google for the setools.

I have the W890i (Upgrade from this phone) and will swear by Sony Ericssons, fantastic phones.... I reccomend this to anyone, only one down side is obviously the £10 top up (as I wouldent be with orange) and Sony Ericsoon chargers have a lifespan of about 9months then they're just a pain in the ass to get to charge, I've been through 2 allready!!!

Voted Hot!! :):)

I've had one of these for 18months+ and it's the best phone I've ever had BY FAR - no problems whatsoever, I get 3-4 days on the battery and it's TINY (which I like).

The keys aren't brilliant but they aren't half as bad as they look - I can text as quickly on this as any other phone I've owned - in fact the bigger problem are the "SMART" buttons above the numberpad which aren't so cleverly used (at least the way Orange sets up the phones they aren't).

Note to anyone getting one of these - disable Orange's RUBBISH Homescreen as it makes the phone run slowly and horribly...

At £50 this is a bargain phone par excellance - you don't get phones this good, that cheap - it's usually featureless TAT at these prices...

p.s. The 2Mp camera is great for 'snaps' (no flash but mobile flashes are **** anyway), the MP3 player works well (no 3.5mm jack tho you get an adaptor cable in the box) and it supports A2DP (stereo bluetooth headphones)

One snag is that it's internal card reader/writer is VERY VERY slow so I recommend removing the memory card to get music/photos on and off the phone (it's either that or be VERY patient!!)

I got the grey one which is currently sold out but they do have other colours. You should be able to use a £30 off voucher and get 8% back with Quidco.

Sony Ericsson W580i Littlewoods.

Top phone!

I paid £50 for it a month or two ago.

Great sounds, memory, lightweight etc.

Plus the Sky tv guide can be downloaded to it so you can set your Sky+ box at home to record programmes while you're on the go (for free!). Really handy.

Really easy to install games from the internet too... FREE (if you know where to look!)

For starters the £30 code is no longer valid making that phone £79 as opposed to £49 for this phone (which imho is a better phone anyway)! Also, from my own personal experience I would stay well away from Littlewoods - their customer service is non-existent and they 'steal' money from your card without authority from you!! Be warned!!

so people are still falling for this voucher after all these years, to put things simple they wouldn't deduct it if they haven't issued it to you personally.

Also the W580i is the worst built phone SE have ever released. Its truly an embarrassment to the company.

The code did work for me and they deducted the £30 straight off. For a period last weekend I thought the voucher didn't work, but what you have to do is buy the phone as soon as you've registered as a new user. If you defer after registering for a day or what ever then you can't use the code.

There's definitely some mixed reviews of the phone, but I would say for every negative one there's more then quite a few good ones and for me so far it's the best phone i've ever had. With the worst being a Panasonic that ironically got nothing but great reviews.

Most networks and most mobile phone retailers force a topup to ensure the handset is connected with the sim its supposed to come with... The £10 is for the top up as I said its not for the actual phone, you have to top up if you buy the phone from CPW, E2Save, Orange, Phones4U, etc... However its just £10 of credit for petes sake its a great deal its a phone that usually sells for twice the price at most places for now less than £50

As for unlocking, all UK networks have always provided unlocking options for their handsets, if you ask for it however they do charge... networks lock the handsets as they are subsidising the cost of the phone, if you bought this phone from Sony Ericsson direct or anywhere else sim free it certainly wouldnt be £48.50

Great deal OP :)

THEY DO. END OF STORY.

Someone showed me this voucher in December and I bought my son this same 880i. Checked my bank statement and I was charged the correct low price. My son loves his phone, particularly the high quality earphones. I love that I can't hear any excess sound from his earphones when hes playing music. My son likes the white phone, but ironically they only had the black one in Littlewoods when i got his.

STOP telling people ****,. when others of us know that the vouchers do work when not out of date.

ok realfakekaty u must own littlewoods or something cos going by what u said ur lying bcos they charge full amount and refund the rest after a certain date. I used it also, worked fine at checkouts and everthing but was never refunded the £30 and this has happened to a lot of people here so it makes to make people know before they use it. Ur talking **** right now but I bet if u check ur account u will find out u wasn't refunded it either.

Before I placed my order last weekend with Littlewoods I rang them up about the £30 off voucher and they reassured me that it wouldn't be a problem as long as I rang them up within seven days of receiving the phone and confirmed that I wanted to keep it. Obviously once they've refunded the money they wouldn't be able to get it back - so they just want to be certain.

Having said all of that they refunded the money straight away to me anyway when I placed the order. My credit card statement showed a debit for the full amount and a credit for £30 all at the same time.

So stop being rude to others when some where down the line it just hasn't worked for you.

I was actually a bit cheeky before christmas and used that code 4 times and my other half twice :whistling:

twice I was charged full order and refunded 30 quid, one time I was charged for each individual item at full price and then got the refund and one time I had the order price minus the 30 quid charged straight.

I can only presume that it depends on what you order? as there seems no logical reason for having three different methods of charging someone.

I guess the main point though is that the code deffo worked :)

...and I don't get the big deal with having to buy a 10er of credit, surely if your have a PAYG phone you'll need something to use to make calls and send texts?
