Its a Vodafone pay as you go phone. So you probably could use your own sim card.

The Orange deal mentioned above seems much better imo ;-)

The w880i comes with 1gb m2 card manufactured in the box, incase anyone was wondering or thinking that they will get it with orange and not voda.

Not going to comment on the whole orange versus vodaphone thing. I got one delivered from littlewoods using a £30 off voucher, so including delivery was £53 (thereabouts).

Anyway, nice phone for a bloke I'll explain why: phone's really thin so goes into the trouser pocket comfy, but the keypad is useless for folks with long nails; girls, vampires, unkempt folk and such like. So hot for boys. cold for girls.

HOT.

I have this phone and love it.

You can also download the Sky TV Guide onto it and set your box at home to record your programmes while you are out in about 1 minute!!

Great phone to take out with you if you are a guy. No big brick in your pocket all night!!

Personally, I would choose Vodafone over Orange everyday!!!

I was coming to the end of my contract and phoned Vodafone to say I wanted their PAYG Supersim (£10/mth 100 mins 500 txts 30 day contract). The guy on the phone said if I got that I would have to change my no. so instead gave me 150 mins and 500 texts for the same price (£10/mth) if I agreed to stay another 12mths.

Worth doing in my opinion if you can stick within these limits.

Can anyone comment on how good the loudspeaker is for handsfree phone calls? I have a K800i at the moment - I love it but it's 3 years old and dying on me - so am thinking this may be a decent replacement.

Lots of bad reviews too, the buttons are very fiddly especially. Orange have had it this cheap for ages. COld
#13
Okay so maybe its cheaper on Orange BUT its a hot price for Vodafone. And don't forget Quidco people - an extra £5 off!

I've got one and the loudspeaker is good for voice, not much cop for music though. i use mine all the time for listening to voicemails.

I got this phone for the daughter in January and all i can say is what a complicated phone i always have the newest and best handsets for myself and usually I've sussed them in 10 minutes but this you need a degree in science for this phone i know people who own them will say they are easy but remember what it was like to learn this phone the buttons are also very unpleasant as they are tiny and flat and cramped i will say its a nice phone though but the orange deal was better and from what i remember it was £48.

good phone..................tiny

I also did as you, got it from Littlewoods with £30 off code, for my son for Christmas. Thankyou again to the person on here who told me about it! He loves it, and uses it all the time now instead of his iPod. The earphones are excellent, he hasnt broken them yet which is a record, and *I* love them because they are the first earphones that I cant hear the music too when he's wearing them. He also loves how small and slim the phone is in his pocket.

Hot!

The phone will more than likely be locked to orange. The providers allow subsidies on phone prices to encourage more people onto their networks, so they make sure the phone cant be used with anyone elses services.

You can get phone unlocked to use any network by using either
1. a special sim card that when used in the phone removes the lock
2. buy an unlock cable to use with pc
3. use a remote unlocking website
4. go to a market or corner shop (expect to pay up to £15 for this one)

Its vodafone. Why would it be locked to Orange?

Yeah I should have said I'm looking to upgrade to something newer and better. The K800 is the best phone I've had but does have its faults: Poor buttons/stick, menus/operations can be slow, bulky compared to newer slim phones. The camera is good (excellent for a 3yr old phone) but I hardly ever use it.

After reading reviews I will probably go for a W890 even though it's a lot more money than this. This W880 is a good deal but it's not the phone for me.
