I was close to ordering the HTC Desire S (Arc was previously over £100 more over the contract) however noticed that the Xperia Arc has dropped in price this week, now matching the Desire S deal

Add the increased quidco from e2save (£50 as apposed to £30 previously) and it works out as £220 over 12 months on talkmobile (edit: now quidco is back down to £30)

400mins, 1000 txts and 1gb internet = £30 pm (£360 over contract). Less £90 cashback from e2save and £30 from quidco = £240 (£20 per month)

Cheaper than buying on PAYG and cheaper than buying off a certain auction website

Cashback to be claimed in 3 £30 tranches at month 6, 8 and 10

Even if you're too lazy to claim the £90 e2save cashback, £330 over the contract (provided you're not too lazy to use quidco) is still a very good deal

From my research this handset appears to be similar to the Desire S, but better looking and with a far superior camera, so if anyone is torn between the two, I can recommend the Arc based on these additional selling points

Few things to note - talkmobile piggyback on vodaphone and if you want to keep your number then you must provide your PAC code when you actually place the order

I prefer the HTC sense software....Sony's is, comparatively, rubbish. Also, the HTC desire s feels more sturdy and solid. The arc is a bit plasticy, in my opinion....

Pretty hot! I ordered one... I figure this will be a decent upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Apollo, nice screen, apparently a good camera - and for £220 including a year's phone bills, I figure at worst I can sell the thing for £150 in a year's time...

Much more appealing than the Desire S, in my opinion. But after a year using a 3.2" lo-res screen on my Samsung, I crave the huge 4.2" on this one!

arghh I cant believe this didn't make it to the front page :s. Thought it was a deal many out there would have gone for had it have got the right publicity. I wont expire this at midnight (due the the change in quidco from £50 down to £30) but will change the title and text. £240 after the reduced quidco will still be a good price

I ordered this deal the other day but canceled after reading about problems with the housing cracking,that and the poor internal memory(320mb) made me think twice. Shame as it looks like a decent phone otherwise.:(

I'd buy this in a heartbeat, however, i'm not going to for two reasons. One- No matter how good this phone is, I seem to be the only one who doesn't get along with Android. I think it's too cluttered and prefer the clean WM7. Two- i've owned many Sony smartphones and I have to say Sony don't roll out the updates like HTC do- the vivaz and x10 are prime examples.

phone is good for the first 6 weeks, after that for me atleast it started freezing annoyingly especially when loading long conversations

it is a good phone though, maybe rooted would be better though :)

Android is crap, but I'm using as it has all the apps I need and WP7 doesn't have them yet. I have a Samsung Galaxy S lagfest, no manner of modding can make it run smoothly. I had a San Francisco before that and it was utter crap. I only have the Samsung as it cost me £100.

Have had nothing but problems with my X10 - this is actually the fourth one and it dials the wrong numbers, freezes, has an awful camera, switches the proximity sensor on and off at random and alters its settings when it feels like it.
Can't see me buying Sony Ericsson again for a while!
