http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2011/01/10/xperia%E2%84%A2-arc-design-and-home-screen/
The CPU and GPU specs are: MSM8255 at 1 GHz with Adreno 205.
The music player does have an equalizer, my current software has 10 different genre based presets.
It does not have a front facing camera.
Mediascape is removed in its earlier form and has changed into a customizable widget based “media pane” (as shown briefly in the video)
It’s too early to officially give detailed comments around specific later Android versions for XperiaTM arc during its lifecycle but the changes we have made to our way of working with Android puts us in a good position to make sure that Xperia arc will get later versions in a timely manner.
I’ve seen articles around higher numbers than 2.3 being seen in the display of Xperia arc phones – As I have been informed that is due to a misconfiguration in some samples and nothing to get too excited about really, sorry.
It does have two microphones which will be used for noise suppression during phone calls.
The camera LED flash is possible to put in four different modes; Auto, Fill-flash, Red-eye Reduction & Off.
It does have full multi touch support, I just tried a similar multi touch test app as I did in the video on the X10 and at least in that app it accepts 4 simultaneous touch points without any issues with X- and Y-axis or such things. I will try to get confirmation on final specs in regards to multi touch.
It does support wi-fi up to the 802.11n mode.

O, according to this review: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-review-50002090/ it does :-S.
Weird.

I think people are voting cold on the Galaxy S, but the Arc is definitely hot
#16
I've edited the deal to now only the Sony Ericsson Arc as this is a far better deal than the Samsung (as RLP06 has pointed out).
#17
You can reduce the data to £3 when you sign up, doesn't need to be after the first month.
#18
can you remove the data altogether after the first month ?
= £ 10.50 a month

I don't think that's guaranteed...
#20
Anyone know? I was gonna get this just for the phone, don't want the sim!
#21
Just talked to an advisor on the chat thingy, and he had a look and said that you can order without the net package over the phone but not online. Can def be removed though, so gonna get the arc I think. Means £17.50ish a month with the tmobile sim :D

EDIT: Except I can't order, it crashes out every time. Bah!

Tried again with a different email and it worked fine, no idea if that was the issue though.

HOT! This deal should be much hotter.

I agree. This is a top rated phone is it not?
#25
I've got this phone. It's awesome, although ti is very delicate and this deal is very hot.

I can also confirm that it doesnt have a front facing camera.
#26
Any recommendations for cases? Ideally looking for a jelly one I think, with a screen protector. Seen a few on amazon, any thoughts on this:

whats the phone like in terms of responsiveness on the screen ? does it respons as well as my iphone 3gs do you reckon

because im torn between this and the omnia 7 :/

Hi! The Experia arc has internal 320 MB storage, 512 MB RAM, is it enough, compared with other similar android phones, such as Samsung Galaxy S? I like to download and install a number of good apps.

Also is this Experia arc unlocked? If not, how to unlock it?

Is it possible to pay the 24 months off early?
#29
I spoke to them yesterday told me the data was mandatory and cannot be cancelled ?

Anyone else had the same ?

Storage is not an issue, as most now install to the sd card which can take up to 32gb. Not sure on the memory, I'd prefer more but it is double what my current android phone has.

im coming away from the iphone eco system

if the screen and UI as fast and snappy as my iphone 3gs ?
#32
In all honesty, as a big android fan, no I don't think the interface is as snappy as an iphone. It can do a **** load more, for free in most cases, but its not as shiny.
banned#33
i just ordered it :)

i dont mind if its not as snappy as iOS , can you give me some examples of what more it can do ?
#34
What do you want it to do? There is so much out there, but as my workmates use iphones and I have android I'll try to concentrate on what it does better.

Forgot your USB cable? Not a problem as File Expert allows you to access it all via wifi from your PC anyway. You can use HTTP or FTP, you can upload or download files, its pretty amazing software. And its free.

Wireless tethering is built into android since 2.2, so your laptop can use it as an internet connection. For free, just uses your data plan.

As a techie I love wifi analyser, it allows you to see every network in the area along with network strength and security status. Really helps when setting up someones wifi, as you can make sure it is not competing for bandwidth with next door. Again, tis free.

I know the iphone can do it too, but I love dropbox so much I have to mention it. Its like a USB stick that lives online, and your phone has full access as well as your PCs. Its one of the best programs I've ever used.

Oh yeah, android phones can run flash ;)

it sounds pretty awesome, i must admit i like how free range android is, theres so many possibilites in terms of apps

do you have any opinions on the ARC as a phone ? , because its coming wednesday :)

yeah same i recieved an email entitled "thankyou for your 02 order"

hopefully theyll update me soon :)

Received mine today. - Screen is impressive! I'm upgrading from a W850i (old skool!) and the two sitting side by side is comical. The Xperia Arc comes with a screen protector in the box but I didn't manage to apply it very well so took it off. Still finding my feet with Android but seems cool so far.
