Android 2.1 is supposed to be rolled out on this handset very soon so I imagine they are recalling stock to update them b4 sale ???

I have the Daddy version of this with 2.1 on it already and it has much improved the phone ....... its a steal at this price imo

I don't think network really matters here mate.... Its all about the phone. This phone has been released 6 months back.

Yeah, but different networks sometimes release phones at different times. The phone RRPs are cheaper too, maybe Vodafone is doing something different.

It is nice but won't come close to £39 for a Orange SF.

Got my wife this phone a little while ago. Absolutely brilliant if you want a SMALL phone. When we looked round for a new phone, we realised that virtually everything out there is way too big if you only want something that easily fits into your pocket (or her bag).

Got this, and even I'M impressed. I use a SE Vivaz as well as an iPhone, but the x10 mini/Andoid combo is even better than these in some areas.

Not sure if these are network unlockable are they?

When the SF first came out, Orange let you buy it with the £30-00 discount and any phone fund you had with them. They stopped this after a few days as I got mine for £39-99 which is what I assume unoriginalguy is quoting.

SE have stated that 2.1 will be available for this phone at the end of november which is probably why this is on pre-order as SE wanting to ship these out with the 2.1 on it and not the 1.6 which is what the wife has.

Suppliers have seen how popular the SF is regarding price etc.. and are now reducing current stock to an affordable level as it seems Orange has stolen a march on the market

I purchased a Orange SF for £39 Thursday last week... Ready 120.
http://www1.orange.co.uk/mobileterms/pay-as-you-go-ready-deal-terms.html

£99 - £10 (credit) - £50 (Ready discount) = £39

However it is only viable for "light" users - since you're stuck on the Orange network for several months. You could get their £10/month contract but then you're paying £50 more for your phone which isn't very fun, but you do get more minutes/texts.

sh*t phone. My flatmate has one and says the only reason he hasn't sold it is because he'd feel too sorry for who he sold it to.

Will this be locked to Vodafone ?

£99 - £10 (credit) - £50 (Ready discount) = £39 PLUS (Purchase £120 worth of top up up front and get 12 monthly top up instalments of £10 a month applied automatically to your phone and up to £50 off selected Pay as you go handsets.)

EQUALS £159

This is a classic case of COGNITIVE DISSONANCE in action

I got mt SF for £109 MINUS £12 QUIDCO PLUS 99pee for unlock = £97.99
