It's back - and better still you can use the voucher "JL0307PParent" to get a further £10 off. Delivery is extra.

Find your way with the fully portable Sony NV-U50 plug and play GPS navigation system. It features a 3.5 inch touch screen interface and voice guidance via the 2-way separate speaker system. It is installed with maps of the UK and Republic of Ireland as well as partial coverage of France.

You can choose to display 2D or 3D maps and it shows over 75,000 points of interest including Restaurants, Accommodation, Entertainment, Petrol Stations, Parking and Sports. It speaks in 15 languages and arrives with 512MB of built-in Flash memory. It also includes a built-in lithium-Ion battery with 4 hours operating time.

8% Quidco??
#2
It actually works out at 5% Quidco.
#3
Also has 7 digit Postcode search

I went straight online and ordered one hastily. Then remembered the voucher. Got on the phone and cancelled the order, placed a new order and then remembered about Quidco. Doh...!

Can be bothered now with the hassle of cancelling again in order to go through Quidco, but to all those intending to take advantage of this:

REMEMBER GO THROUGH QUIDCO AND REMEMBER THE VOUCHER!!

You're right Motley. In my haste to put up the post forgot about Quidco.
#6
Well spotted, I have been waiting for this to come back in stock for a week now-only 5 left though
#7
Several people ordered this last time it was available and got the Tom Tom One at the same cost and a further discount as it wasnt what was ordered. Ended up with a Tom Tom One for £60...
#8
Was out of stock...now 10 in stock again :o)
#9
Now showing as 10 in stock! :)
#10
Well Spoted Thanks to the OP.

Ordered it along with a 1.95 pack of batteries :whistling:
This takes the order over 100gbp, which is then free shipping
Used coupon also with no problems :-D

There are quite a few scathing reviews of this product about. I think it is one to avoid personally. Maps are 3 years old, with no available update, live traffic doesn't work, and it only has 4 digit postcode search, not 7. Take a look here......http://www.bigmouthstrikesagain.com/archives/973 I was thinking of getting this GPS but am going to go for a Tom Tom instead. A bargain is only a bargain if it is going to work!
#13
When this was posted previously someone said that Sony will not be issuing map updates for this satnav so think twice before you order
#14
Where do you enter the promo code i can`t see where and when

Did you find it? It's at the payment stage at checkout.
#16
When you get to the enter your credit card details screen at the top of the screen you have the option to enter the code.
#17
Now OOS again. I wonder if we'll be getting TomToms this time or whether this little batch was recent custmer returns ?

Actually....It does come with the newest software which includes an upto date map and 7 digit postcode search.

I know, because i bought it from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago

Quidco discount works out at about £4.70 so whole thing is under £90 including deliver using promo code.. Had no trouble yet with maps and ver 1.06 does 7 digit postcode search.
#20
Ok - fair point. That makes it a bit more worthwhile. Is there a map update available though?

The map update is already on the Unit, and is newer then the update on the website

My Unit has version 1.06

Yeh I've had no problems with it.

The only problems with it are that, it doesn't have an expandable memory (so cannot install Europe Maps) and also you cannot install speed cameras

Cheers for that mate appreciated

As I said in one of the other sony gps threads, you can import speed camera databases to the sony unit, seems a bit involved though and haven't tried it myself yet, but will be doing so when I get the chance.

Here's the link.

My Unit has version 1.06

1.06 is the firmware level in the unit not the maps. I bought this unit when it was noted on hot deals before, but from ********** at £99.95. I used the unit for a few days, but my particular unit kept locking up, so had to switch on and off which was a pain. It is possible to get the unit into Windows CE with a bit of playing about, and you can then add the speed cameras, but hard work. Also felt it was a bit heavy compared to the latest Tom Toms. So given my noted issues took mine back and had a refund.....So for now am relying on my £1.99 road map/ and google maps!
#32
The Deal is finished!!

It has now been removed from the John Lewis website
#33
If anyone is interested - just checked the JL site and there is one still left in stock.

"Groundhog Day"

Incidentally, that could be the one someone just sent back as faulty :)
