Just been to Asda and found they have slashed the price of this HDMi DVD player to just £59!!

Been on avforums and found the cheapest they have listed on the offer page was £75.99.

They have a few in stock at my Asda Superstore at Patchway, Bristol. Hope this applies to other Asda stores that sells HDMi DVD players as well!

Doesn't look to be available online at asda.co.uk

Not a bad price for a decent HDMI dvd player, does it come with a HDMI cable in the box?

Voted hot.

Bought this baby a couple of months ago to get us on the HD trail with our LCD TV. Computer generated films like Toy Story, Over The Hedge, and Madagaskar move into a new dimension! And Planet Earth doc is breathtaking...
No HDMI cable included, but easy to pick up a lead from CPC or the likes for a fiver to get you going!
Definitely recommended.
NOT multi-region - hack requires Sony dealer remote control, or some sites suggest that a PDA can be prgrammed to do it.

I have one too. This is an upscaling player and also plays XVID/DIVX and has 5 disk Resume function. Great player.

Does it have HD Component output too ?

In addition to SCART, S-VIDEO, and HDMI outputs there are three phono sockets on the back marked 'Component Video Out' and the manual shows them routed to Y/Pb/Pr inputs on a TV.

are these available at all stores?

I have no idea, I think they might only be available at the bigger Asdas that already sells HDMI DVD Players.

It's on the website at 92.75 + 7.24 del. Strange that they're trying to shift them 30+ quid cheaper in-store. Misprice?

I think that's just standard composite, High Def component has 6 plugs and not 3.

No component does have 3 plus 2 for audio.

I bought one of these from amazon and it wasn't region free, but I managed to make it region free using a bit of remote control software on my PDA.

Superb player, and makes even the ropiest dvd's look very very good on an HD TV. Also does and excellent job of playing divx files. Simply burn to DVD and the built in file browser does the rest.

so has anyone seen these in other Asda stores for this price?
