Sony HDR CX190 Full HD Camcorder - with price match and cashback. £181.50 + £30 cashback from sony @ PC World using price match £151.50
Looked a good price to me.
How to get price:
- contact PC World and tell them that the exact same camcorder is £184.99 at Comet. PC World will price match and also give £3.50 cheaper (10% of difference).
- Sony are offering cashbacks on their cameras right now (guaranteed, not like quidco) - so a further £30.
You could just not bother with the £3.50 and buy it straight from Comet (is what I did since PC World isn't that close to me and I wanted this today).
Is much more expensive at Argos, John Lewis (who also price match and give longer warranty), etc. Is the same price at Amazon (less price match), and has great reviews (except the poor still image quality).

Negative comments are about the still image quality.
Using the camcorder now, video quality is superb. Want to see? :p

Professional reviews from reputable sources, not Amazon's Joe Bloggs of Hampshire. One reviewer said the picture was so sub-par he wouldn't call it HD. Gutting really as I'm on the look out for a budget HD camcorder.
CNET
"The good: Sony's entry-level Handycams, the HDR-CX190, CX200 and CX210 are small, lightweight and cheap. A captive USB cable that enables charging while connected to your computer is one of the few perks.
The bad: You can't really call the video HD quality, the camcorder feels flimsy and the lens is prone to fringing.
The bottom line: They're cheap and capture video, but don't buy the Sony Handycam HDR-CX190, CX200 or CX210 thinking that you're getting a great bargain on a real HD camcorder. If you're going to buy one, get the cheapest; nothing on any of these is really worth the extra bucks."
Digital Versus
"- Low price (£200)
- Good image stabiliser
- Powerful zoom (25x)
- Integrated USB cable
- No 50p or 25p mode
- No mic/headphone jack
- No touchscreen
- Mediocre video quality"

You're calling CNET professional? Lol.
This review simply says "you can't call the video HD quality" with no elaboration, detail, evidence, etc.
Admittedly, it's interlaced 1080 which certainly isn't full HD.
Yes it's light and small, and thus feels flimsy.
You're relying on one CNET review against 12 on Amazon, 3 on argos, more positive on testfreaks, pixmania.
