£340.00 @ CDiscount entertainment
Cheaper than anywhere else plus credit and quidco makes it around £340 for Sony hd camcorder. Cannot beat this price. Could not find any decent reviews, please post

safe yes ... but don't rely on actually getting the 'credit' into your account. :x

Also, to the OP you are not getting this for the reduced price, you are getting it for £439.99 (less quidco) and then only (may) receive £80 credit - which you still have to spend in their store within 30 days.

So you are not getting this for £340 as suggested... your wallet will still be £439.99 lighter.

QUOTE " We offer no warranty on any item whatsoever as we are not a manufacturer". This is their customer services speaking and seem totally oblivious of the Sales of Goods act !! Buyer Beware. I personally would go nowhere near them.

We offer a 14 fault warranty with all our items and a 1 years manufacturers warranty, some manufacturers will have an extended warranty for certain products as standard.

The fact that the actual company is on here trying to sell themselves is alarming enough. IA couple of my mates have had trouble with your company and I personnally wouldn't deal with you due to bad reports. End of the day it's down to the individual and if they want to use cdiscount then thats their choice.

having bought a Sony HiDef camcorder I would caution you:
1) They refuse to work with cheap memory sticks so you have to pay about £13 or 4GB (~= 1 hour at 1080i) so you may not be able to simply leave the data on these as you would with tapes or DSHC cards
2) AVCHD is a bit of a pain to edit and playback. Even playback on a 2GHz Core2 struggled for me.
If you have a BluRay player you can play back the files stored on a DVD-R, or better still a PS3 where you should be able to store the files on its hard disk.
