How quick do they charge?
#3
These are similar to the ones that came with My Sony DSC-W1 - and they're excellent.
#4
Do these plug into the wall? I have just ordered 2 and then read the pther deal about the Uniross charger.
#5
They are great batteries and very good for digital cameras. I bought a box of these sony batteries while I was in China last year.

It was a box of 40 batteries for around £15. sorted my Digital camera and my RC cars :)

Would these work with xbox 360 wireless controllers? Not sure if they are compatible with rechargeable batteries.
#7
Anyone know if they charge / discharge NI-CD batteries as well?
The XBox 360 controllers certainly do work with rechargeable batteries by the way.

Yes because they're AA batteries.

Can anyone advise me on whether I should buy these or would I be better off getting a quick charge kit? (for the 360 controller) Thanks

im gonna go for these because:
1. you get 4 batteries (same as 2 battery packs). i have 2 controllers after all.
2. flexible, i can use them with other devices.
3. they are 2500mah while the xbox batteries are 2100mah.

I'm tempted to buy them, how many charges before they lose their life?

I'd like to know aswell.

Is it a normal 3-pin UK head?
#15
where can you get the spare batteries from, and what are they called.

Arghh just read some reviews. Apparently the charger is 2500 mah, the batteries can be 2300 all the way down to 1700 mah or lower. Bad sony bad. Very misleading. :x

stick with uniross or 7dayshop. Cant cancel the order. Treats me right for buying anything sony. never again.

edit: and it takes 4-6 hours to charge. not really quick. :(

It's with all manufacturers like this. They supply some batteries at a given time, but then later in the future, they release the same charger with higher capacity batteries. When I bought this, 6 months ago, 2300mAh betteries were attached, now they've upgraded them to 2500mAh.

And 15-minute chargers are not very good for the battery life and charging accuracy. The 4-6 hours is quite optimal. It's still rather quick, but they don't heat the batteries as much as the superfast chargers. Unless you really need quick recharging, it's better to stick with the slightly longer charger times.

Word of warning - Sony Batteries are not actually compatible with the XBox controller, this is due to the whole XBox vs PS3 row....!
#19
just a note, these do come with the 2500Mah batteries mentioned as i got mine delivered a few days ago.

at the back of the charger it says:

2 AA 2500mah batteries take about 155 minutes to charge
4 AA 2500mah batteries take about 310 minutes to charge

so it does have a speedy charge if you only put two in.

hope that helps

That's the craziest thing I've heard! How would the controller know the batteries were Sony and/or vice versa?!

Perhaps if Sony got a 360 pad and tested it at all different voltages (even though batteries can fluctuate) then maybe... but no.

if I saw it first hand I'd still refuse to believe it.

Good grief! Sometimes sarcasm needs to be accompanied by a rim-shot on the drums and slap in the face with a wet haddock!

He was only kidding, batteries are batteries - they are not instruments in a plot bring about the downfall of Microsoft.

FYI - any rechargeable AA batteries will work in the xbox 360 controller and 15 minute chargers work just fine (I have an Energiser one) although they may marginally shorten the life of the batteries it won't be significant and the cost of replacements if you shop around is miniscule (Aldi and Lidl for instance). A decent cheap charger with 4 batteries like this will outstrip the 360 play and charge kit and 360 fast charger for value any day as you essentially get a spare set of batteries into the price.

Got mine. So far so good. Have lasted a while. Fit easily in to the controller (the 7dayshop ones are allegedly a little bigger and cant fit). Repped.
