Not a bad price at all for what it is. Word of warning though. There is no USB interface so if you want to put files on there from your computer or any other source, it has to be done the old fashioned way in real time. Voted hot.

Will I be able to record telephone conversations with this?

How strange that it boasts about recording in MP3 format and yet there's no way to get data on or off it other than through the microphone and speakers.

Good price, but I'd pay more for something that will let me store the recordings.

Very many thanks.

Just get an android phone. There are many call recording apps available which don't require any additional equipment.

If there's no way to electronically get recordings on/off it to your PC, then I agree what does it matter what format it gets recorded in??? How strange!

I use to use a sony digital voice recorder while at uni, they are excellent.Voted hot as it is very cheap compared to what I paid about 6 year back.

is there a good one you can move the recordings from to a pc? or with one of those "directional mics" Ive been thinking of getting one for college and recording the teacher when they talk.

I got an android phone, htc desire but wouldnt imagine that it would be any good to be used as a voice recorder from a teacher a little bit away from it, unless theres one of those direction microphones that can be used with it.

weird timing seeing this bargain - we looked into these recorders a few weeks back, and was surprised at just how expensive they are when you consider many mobiles & mp3 players have v.similar (but not as good) recording functionality plus a whole raft of other abilities.

But we needed one, so went for an OLYMPUS (VN-8600PC) in the end for the USB to PC functionality - seems a nice little unit, well made, with headphone & mic sockets, standard usb lead and soft pouch. Takes AAA batteries, 2gb storage, records in MP3 (upto 192) or WMA, max 800hrs recording time on lowest setting.

We bought on the highstreet as needed in a hurry - I see that amazon has the 8600 for £40, but the 8700 is only £7 more for an extra 2gb - here.
