Had a look at the reviews and they look mostly good.

I need an ipod dock myself (not necessarally a clock radio one) and i'm never sure what to go for.
#3
They're not bad - bought one for about £70 a couple of years back...

Sound is ok, but the display on mine went a bit dodgy after a few months (some of 7 segment LEDs on the display faded)

Remote is handy to have. You can set it to wake up with radio, buzzer or iPod.

[edit: forgot to mention, one drawback is you can't change the brightness of the display so it might annoy some people trying to sleep!]

Supports iPod 3G, btw...

I've ordered this today - £55 (£10 cheaper than i could find anywhere else)
Think its a better docking station if you dont need a radio or alarm

Lots of comments about how bright the display is - put me off getting this

You can dim the display quite a lot (it has three settings)

You could always put something in front of it if it really annoys you.
#7
Thanks ordered one.

I was testing them out with my iphone in Currys the other day and found this one, for the price had a good sound......and quite loud!!!! lol

Nice piece of kit. Sound is excellent and build quality is good. Had mine for 2 years now without any issues.

I have one of these and highly recommend it.

I also have one of these. Bought from HMV for £70 about a year ago. Sound is quite good on it. I use mine mainly for Xbox as it has an auxillary input in the back (3.5mm socket) and doubles as a clock radio/iphone charger.
#13
would this work with iphone 4?
#14
Great price and ordered.

would this work with iphone 4?
Yes it does
#16
Got this last Christmas for about £55... Would recommend highly. Very impressed with the sound quality.
#17
I have one and yes it works for Iphone 4 (charges and plays), sound is OK. The bright display did take a bit to get used to and if you have it next to you on a bedside cabinet, even the lowest setting will be a bit too bright.

BTW if you care about it, the clock display only displays in 12hr format, not 24hr format.
#18
Tried this out in a shop the other day with my iphone 4 sounds pretty good to me. Was only put off by price at £70ish. Noticed it was £49.99 on amazon and was thinking about it. At this price its a steal.... bought one....
#19
BEWARE...Mine stopped working after latest firmware upgrade on my Iphone. it seems the new OS4.X firmware is not compatible with this device. Google it...and you will find about the firmware issues and sony dock.
#20
Sainsburys instore also have this at this price FYI.
#21
Has anyone tried this with an iPhone 4 with 'bumper' fitted?
Only that's my predicament. I have a Sony stereo with iPod dock and it won't work with my iPhone 4 with bumper regardless of adaptor!

I have to completely disagree, the sound on this model is absolutely fantastic. The only problem is that the backlight on the clock is very bright with all lights in your room switched off.
#23
It's a dock with a clock, but where's the vessel with the pestle and the brew that is true?
#24
I got one for christmas last year and it has served me well.

My only issue is the brightness of the screen. Even on the dimmest setting it lights my room up. I use the remote to cover the screen
#25
excellent, been looking out for one of these for a while - great price for what seems a much better quality dock compared to the cheap tackier ones
#26
(re the brightness, i'm going to look for something transparent - but with a little bit of shade - to stick over it - problem solved)

Like a sweety wrapper?

Well, thats a start, but I think something more like a screen protector for the iphone would do the trick a bit better

DAB version please!!!!

Sound for this is not bad at all. Light is a little bright, but has never stopped me from sleeping!

It's a bargain at this price. I think mine cost me £45, and was worth every penny.

Totally agree, I was astounded at how poor the sound quality was.

i don't know how it sounds, but can you really be 'astounded' by the sound from a clock radio?
#33
does this work with an apple nano 8g- the new gen on the market? The square touch screen one? Don't want to take it back if it doesn't or is it best to go into a shop for an assistant to try it out?
#34
i once bought a set of PC speakers it was Sony or Logitech, The sonys were horrendous and how they can put their name on such poor equipment was beyond me. The logitechs were better in every respect and cheaper. things like NO VOLUME CONTROL! OR bass control was just laughable.

Therefore i stay away from Sony for speakers.

You're understand astoundingly bad quality if you heard them
