This is a cracking deal.

This is the cheapest you will find this on the net .. especially with a 5 year warranty.

Yes, I know some Samsungs are a little bit cheaper (like the white one for £375 posted last week) but the picture on this set is amazing.

This is the KDL-32S3020 (set is in the S3000 range and is a gun-metal grey finish).

This includes 3 HDMI ports (not 2 as advertised on some websites).

And for those that don't have a Costco membership or are anti-Sony, please don't vote cold for the sake of it - you cannot find this set cheaper online with or without a 5 year warranty therefore is a great deal IMHO.

and you'll recover the £25 +vat several times over if you visit costco a few times a year.

to get the 5 year warranty..you have to be a costco member for those 5 years..meaning you have to renew your membership for 5 consecutive years. which totals to £150. People who are not too keen on the idea, are better of goin john lewis to get a price match.

Got this one from Costco last year for £380 approx! Mind you it was a special deal that they were offering to members who wanted a Panasonic that they had run out of stock of and at the time Costco wre selling the S3020 for about £550 so a saving at that time of £170
Well done Costoc:roll:
BTW had it for about 8 months now and very pleased with it as a second TV but it comes nowhere near my Pio plasma for picture quality.

JL will not pricematch with Costco as far as I am aware cos Costco is not open to the general public.

Are you sure about the 5 year membership rule? I bought a TV last year and although it's guaranteed only 3 years it makes no mention of 3 years continuing membership.

Yes - details here: 5 year warranty

Costco extends the manufacturers warranty to 5 years on Televisions and 2 years on computers and camcorders from the date of purchase. See the manufacturers warranty for specific coverage terms.

But where does it say that you have to commit to five years memberhsip of costco for it ? as I think that was the point

As for an earlier point about membership IU have found that any major employer especially public sector are allowed membership

NHS
Universities
Councils / Local Government

so maybe ask who has a relationship

If you know someone who already has a membership card, you can buy one through their card, and its cheaper too. It used to be about £14, don't know how much now, as I havent been in about three years. You also didn't have to fit into any of their customer criteria list, to get a card like that.

Im sure I got a trade card one time because I was a scout leader :p If you have a trade card you used to get in at least an hour earlier than other customers, lovely and quiet, AND there would be coffee and muffins for free at the entrance. If you have a VAT number for a home business you can get a trade card too. Again, I haven't been for three years, so if this has changed, please can someone say. thanks!

I had the option of taking out a membership. Most items I found were more expensive than in other shops once you added VAT. IMO it's just a psychological trick to keep members exclusive without having to offer any better prices. Would not bother.
#15
You can pick this up for £442.97 which is £20.97 more but you get...

Inclusive of VAT
Inclusive of Carriage (UK Mainland)
2 Free DVD's with every order while stocks last...Monsters Inc, and Erin Brockovich.

...so not bad, considering you don't have to squeze this into the car...

You may have a point in a way, but their customer service and returns is second to none and is worth the membership fee alone for. I just got a full no quibble refund on an MP3 that I took back after about 2 and a half years. No where else would you get that.

True. But there is a way round this. I share my membership with a friend and we pay half each. There is nothing to say it has to be your spouse...same sex parnerships etc. My OHalf does not want a card of his own.

Additionally, I have the trade membership because I run a small business from home, I was able to provide invoices to another company. So you don't have to be a big business to get this.

We therefore pay £11 each for our annual membership fee.

Not bad....although i got my 42" Toshiba LCB for £475 after Quidco from Curry Online at Xmas and i know whta id rather have.

Not the same .... only comes with a standard warranty. The Costco one comes with 5 year warranty as stated by the Op.

Comparable deal with 2 free DVD's is £469.97 from that website so not an attractive alternative compared to the deal at Costco .... its £48 more and for that you get free delivery and 2 dvds ... hmmm,,no thanks ;)

Oh and how small is your car ???? Its only a 32" Lcd , lol. Would easily fit in a fiesta/small hatch car or similar without having to squeeze it in so thats hardly an issue.

Heat added , good find !

I'm confused as to why someone thinks that costco is more expensive, yes other shops have cheaper deals on some items but that would mean driving from asda for this deal then to tesco for that dealthen farmfoods... then morrisons then... nah I'd rather go to one place and get the majority of my stuff cheaper and pay a little more for somethings.

for example my missus dont smoke normal cigs she smokes rollups (prefers the taste apparently) got 10 12.5 gramme bags for £22 saving £6 over the normal price of buying 10 at asda and they last for2 months

Costco Cardiff is opening on 31july. If you join now, before it opens you get a £10 off anything voucher, and an 18 free range eggs voucher, which goes halfway to getting your membership fee back:thumbsup:

Nonsense. Where exactly have you heard that?
#25
As far as i remmember, the rules on getting a costco card are pretty lax, i seem to remmember you just have to be a "profesional" whos employed by someone... Their website is no help on the matter, only tells you how to get trade membership (which looks pretty lax too)

It's £8 more expensive at Amazon, you have to wait for delivery using 'super saver' and you only get 1 year warranty.... so Costco is a cracking deal as you can pick one up and take it home straight away.

As I said in my opening post ... I couldn't find this cheaper online with or without the 5 year warranty.

can't believe some people are being so grippy. Yes Costco isn't directly open to the public (though they really are very lax about who can apply believe me), yes you have to drive there and pick the TV up yourselves, but the price IS cheap and there is a very useful guarantee/warranty.

It may not be the absolute cheapest out there, but compared to the majority of places it is good value, and the 5 years warranty means something to a lot of people.

I've been a supporter of HUKD for years and years - though only just recently got myself a member-name and I'm beginning to see some harsh comments and frankly silly reasons not to vote hot on some deals. Not necessarily having a go about this particular item, but I'm just getting somewhat fed up.

No one deal is perfect for everyone - you may not like to order online, you may not live near a costco, the 5 year warranty may not mean much to you, whereas free dvd's may!

Toonarmani - good find! Your heart's absolutely in the right place as you are sharing something you found which could be a good deal to other HUKD viewers. I'm happy with the samsung deal posted previously as it's in my price range - but nonetheless this looks more than reasonable... Heat and rep added, nice one!

I'm a costco member even though I do not live near one! (I visit from time to time though)

Can anyone who has been tell me if they recollect seeing any good 21- 23" flat screen deals?

Thanks

Voted Hot - Not everything is cheaper at costco, Id shop at a supermarket too, but a lot of stuff you save a serious amount of cash.I only have to pay the £14 a year, but I easy would make back £30.

I only wish you could see all the prices online, like in the states!

John Lewis will not price match Costco. Tried it before, they say Costco is not open to all and thats their stance :?

Many thanks!

I was close to stopping posting deals recently when people moan so much e.g. not having a Costco Card or Virgin Credit Card etc. Others vote cold because they have size 10 feet and some trainers are only available in a 9 ... but that's people for you :whistling:

Next it'll be blokes voting cold for offers on women's clothing

I just hope someone else can benefit from this deal like I did :-D

They have Sony 21" and 23" sets .. I can't recall the prices exactly, but ring them up, they'll be happy to tell you.

I looked at 5 sets at the weekend and couldn't find 1 cheaper online .. the 5 year warranty just makes it even better

You have to be really careful with Costco.

It's easy to assume that because some of their stuff is very cheap, then it ALL is, whereas much of the stuff they sell is actually cheaper at Asda.

You have to really know what you're buying and what it costs elsewhere to make the most of the membership fee.

Having said that, their returns policy is very good.
#35
try this from costco as well if you after a slightly bigger sony bravia tv. http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2265051#post2265051

Isn't that the same at any retailer? what's cheap in Tesco's could be cheaper in Asda and more expensive in Morrisons and vice versa.

If everything was cheaper in 1 store alone, then no-one would shop anywhere else, it's called competition.

I've been looking around at tv's for months sizing up what's available on the market at a reasonable price and this is the cheapest price I could find for this set (it's even cheaper that it was instore last week!) and you have the added bonus of getting a 5 year warranty, the customer service of which is fantastic.

You also get a free "concierge" support service 24x7, so if you have any issues with or queries on the item, you can call them FREE (0800 no.).

£372.98 delivered using discount code EM4744 (user name "edsave") on Empiredirect but NOT with 5 yr warranty. Some people might be prepared to risk it for the saving. Heat added for the OP and as I'm a Costco member I might pick one of these up next time I pop over for some loo roll!

Apparently there's something in the terms of the warranty that you have to maintain membership to keep the warranty. I phoned their concierge service twice today & the reply was that you had to be a member at the time of using their concierge service to sort out a problem. The 2nd advisor didn't see a problem in re-joining when the tv broke down, then calling them. Does anyone have a copy of the warranty they can quote from to see if the correlates.
