Don't you hate it when that happens :x. Amazon dropped the price drop policy in favour of lower free delivery requirement. May be worth a call as you never know.

Now that Amazon have dropped price matching I am supporting Comet - they led the price drop this time! Also Topcashback 4% perhaps...
#8
Now this price at John Lewis, but out of stock on the web site. None in stock at Cheadle JL or the Trafford Centre - plus assistant said it was down as deleted stock meaning they won't be getting any more in. It would be nice to get the JL 5 year warranty but good value tv at this price anyway.
#9
I only added this deal as I've had better dealings with Amazon customer service than Comet plus you get a 3 year guarantee. It gives people a choice as to what's more important for them which is all good. After all that's wht this site's all about

Now that would be a deal. How do they have the nerve to drop the price on an out of stock item though. It's been out of stock at £399 for a while now. Naughty JL :-D

image quality is nothing like what a telly should be - walk away while you can

Why the price drop everywhere? Is there a new model coming out soon?
I only ask because I'm anxiously waiting for the current "piano black" fad to die a well-deserved death before getting my next TV. I watch telly with the lights on so I don't want glossy!

It's a pretty new TV, only 2 or 3 months I'm sure. Sometimes you get a TV that everyone seems to use as a loss leader. It happened with the Panasonic TH-42PX80 a few months back and it looks like the same is happening to this one. Good news for the consumer

John Lewis now selling it for £329 as a local undersell...just bought mine from Kingston store...5 sets left in Reading...
Currys are now flogging the set as their "Deal of the Day" including a home cinema kit for £399,99 (plus p&p) but don't forget 4.5% cashback with topcashback

:-D

Dear Hump

Please don't take my posting as a criticism. The 3 year g'tee is a worthwhile addition to the original Comet proposition. I do like the ability to specify delivery date with Comet - but I agree that Amazon customer service is supreme. I just wonder if this will become another casualty of the Brown slump.

What do you expect for the price? A Panasonic Viera, maybe a Pioneer Kuro? From the reviews I have seen this is a very good TV for the price, and there is nothing wrong with LCD's, and thats coming from a Plasma owner

I love it when that happens :-) I was just wondering because Sony were churning out the new models quite fast so it's not beyond reason that they'd bring out a new one. It's maybe a little too close to xmas for it not to be out already though, probably have to wait until spring now.

He's talking about plasma. Which yes, is better quality but the screen is reflective so that wonderful picture is overlaid with an image of me sitting in my pants. I'm not THAT much of a narcissist for this to be a plus-point :-D

Mum phoned up and asked about the price drop, they said they wont refund the difference or honour the 3 year warranty (she bought it on the 19th of October - 3 year warranty was valid from the 20th!!) she said ok i'll send it back they just said thats fine. However my dad says its not going back!! you would think for all the effort to send it back and the fact its only a days difference on the warranty they might have just given her that!
#31
If you want what is probably the cheapest deal on this TV (but just with standard warranty) then buy it from Currys. They are currently selling it for £399 and will price match +10% with Comet.

I bought mine yesterday for £322

For those who ARE interested ... this is a Sony, and has a fantastic screen. Looks the biz with PS3, Xbox, Blu-Ray etc. - just ignore the other (unhelpful) post

PLASMA FAN-BOY ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you were going to talk about OLED you would have a point, but seeing as they are 12 months away, you should just stop typing this rubbish
