I posted this earlier but it got expired. Got mine this morning will put image of receipt up in a bit.

Best Buy (manager instore and supervisor over the phone) have confirmed that they will be doing this deal to December sometime, I forget the date and they will keep ordering stock.

For anyone who wants to know abt Derby, delivery dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Hope it helps someone.

Oh they would'nt let me choose Aliens Box Set (£39.99) for the free Blu Ray, I wasn't fussed so got Avatar.

If anyone wants this deal, just go into your local store (or ring) and get yourself on the reserve list, not many people in the Derby store had reserved it and the staff are excellent.

p.s. the blu ray player is currently £119.99 on amazon so if you take that off the price and the VAT back the TV works out roughly £270 plus a free chart blu ray movie which CEX might give a tenner for!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-BDPS370B-CEK-BDPS370-Blu-ray-Player/dp/B0038M1UTW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289912867&sr=8-1

ONLINE OPTION

As you know TV is £449.99 on the website on its own with nothing else, wozwebs spotted that best buy has 10% quidco so that's an option for people if it helps so with the VAT back TV works out under £350 I think.

Thanks wozwebs

PC WORLD/CURRYS

On a seperate note the revamped PC World/Currys store next to Best Buy in Derby should be opening soon and they should have opening offers if that helps anyone. No doubt if there are any deals, they will get posted one here.

cracking deal

£450 is already a top deal but if you can manage to get the VAT back after then £383 for all of that is scorching. I thought £450 was the price after the VAT back but the guy last week can't have explained it properly.

Ah, it was you. Well you got your receipt and brochure pics uploaded this time so this should get plenty of heat. Might be worth mentioning the VAT offer in the title.

Been watching this since you originally posted it, and would snap one up in an instant but not showing in stock any closer than 178 miles. that includes derby for me. Were they in stock instore or did you reserve one for when they had a delivery ??

Also i think the original question re the vat back was whether Sony would Honour it when you've bought the TV as part of a package with free things already included ?!?

If you can order for delivery to a store may phone merry hill and take a trip up there at the weekend - whether thas a good idea with weekend traffic tho :D

Is this only instore?

Don't trust the online system, they said its still got problems, ring store and get them to check stock levels, when I was there they had plenty of tvs in stock but guy did say they were running low on the blu ray player, I rang Derby store to find out their delivery days and made sure I called, well vat back is as they've advertised it so Sony hopefully will give it if not sue best buy

Slight concern from the terms and conditions of the sony promotion is the following:

'Purchases which form part of a package or bundle are also excluded from the promotion'

Anyone know if the quidco for this would be with or without VAT as it doesn't specify and that can change it from £44.99 to £38.29

Quite tempted to buy just the TV online with quidco and the vat back still works out to around £335 which aint bad, and no hassle of ebaying the Blue Ray player to get the £70 back.

VAT back is from Sony (if successful due to reasons already mentioned) so the cashback would be based on the purchase amount - £450.

Yeah i understand that but some companies, i think Play is one, only pay QUIDCO cashback at the purchase price BEFORE vat so was wandering if these may be the same although theres' nothing stating this on their quidco page.

First read this comment around 1.30pm. Looked at website but could not find the deal. Added TV and player to basket but not discounted. Phoned up customer services who confirmed that deal was nationwide but instore only. I asked if I could phone a store and purchase over the phone but was told I couldn't and that I would have to go there. Jumped in car and was in BestBuy Lakeside around 2.30pm. No stock in store but told that they had eleven in the central warehouse. That figure was reduced to ten after my purchase. Delivered next Tuesday free. You also get to choose any chart Blu-ray which is worth another £15. Thanks tdk2bu.

I've never heard of this and I've just checked a couple of recent purchases I've made with Play and cashback is inclusive of VAT, for me using Quidco at least.

why mention quidco if it's instore only ?
#37
With vat back and quidco online should work out at £337.50, sounds good.

Yea but you don't get the Blu Ray player or the chart blu ray so not as good a deal online

Wouldn't the Samsung 40" be better for about £20 more?

Saves the hassle of claiming vat too.

low stock, but I've confirmed when it's next in at my nearest one and I'll be doing the 70 mile round trip I reckon, brilliant price.
