Sony W Series 37" for sub £400

Found this instore. Not sure if it is nationwide but the store manager confirmed stock.

This is £100 less than the Argos deal for the 37W5710 (which has the same screen but aesthetically slightly different).

thanks to thehitman - It should have a standard Sony warranty that is currently 3 years until the end of this month

updated on 23/11/2011:

Recently, my tv bought on this deal died and I had to dig down the information regarding the 3-years warranty. The only thing you need to claim 3-years warranty from the date of purchase is the original purchase receipt. Thanks to Yiddo4life (post 425) Full details can be found at the link:

http://campaign.odw.sony-europe.com/tvme/h086/pdf/BRAVIA_en_GB_Trade-in_Ts_Cs_&_3yr_Guarantee_info.pdf

I called on 03304402060 to claim the warranty. The information they need is the model number and the date of purchase.

I hope this information helps for somebody else. Cheers.

um, yes, it is essentially the same tv, actually. the speaker grill is a slightly different colour.....that is all. the 5710 is even marketed by sony as being the same as the 5500, with cosmetic difference only.

hot.

The "screen" is the same .. the "surround" is different. I believe the bar across the bottom is silver on one set and clear or grey on the other

Wow the rage, it is a person prerogative to what they vote and there reasons why
#23
Looks like a great deal, if you can get it, although I think it's an old/last year's model. Nothing wrong with that, though!

If I'm not wrong, here are some highlights:
- Applicast (Sony's on-screen widget application platform) functionality;
- Increased DLNA media compatability (in addition to the usual JPEG photos and MP3 music files, certain video file formats can now be streamed); and
- Bravia Engine 3 (BE3) video processing.

Also one left in a store near me. Just reserved and picking up in half hour. NOT Finchley, so possible nationwide?

Would you consider it a good deal if it was a store in northern Ireland ?

is that rage? or, in turn, a person's perrogative to express dissatisfaction when someone pedantically goes about scuppering an authentically hot deal, because, they, as an individual, can't get the benefit of it....? (lol :))

Yea i would of course. But if its not Nationwide (which isn't confirmed yet) then that guys logic is stupid.

It being local doesn't make it any less of a good deal though does it.... Just means you have missed out on an opportunity while others will be more fortunate.

Would you say its any less of a bargain if something was sold out or if you happened to miss it by a couple of hours

Just Stinks of sour grapes

why?

Because why should he rage at someone if he voted it cold because its no-where near were he lives?

He has every right too because its not a good deal if its just store specific (again i must point out its not confirmed whether or not its nationwide yet).

Its a good deal for those who can get it. But why rage if someone votes it cold? They have a valid reason too.

That isn't the same because if it was nationwide and i missed it then its my fault. This appears not to be nationwide so its not my fault that i missed it or can't get it. Its just impossible for me to get because im in a different country. Again its a great deal for people who can get it, but there is absolutely no need to massively RAGE at someone for voting it cold with good reason.

Assuming my post was missed on the previous page?

2 pages of people jumping on each other and 1 page relevant to the deal. Typical thread here eh? :-D

Someone else phoned up their store and it was still £500+. So its not a nationwide deal at the minute.

This could all change, it could be that stores aren't updated yet and it is a nationwide deal. Which would be great!:)

If it's a good deal it a good deal, isn't that the point of hot uk deals?!?!?

So to vote a deal cold would suggest that the deal isn't any good...but tha't be wrong yeah? just because it ain't local........

Don't get me wrong i see what you mean. Its a great deal, but unfortunately it doesn't seem nationwide.

I just don't like to see someone get blasted because they voted it cold with a good reason. Freedom of Speech and all that jazz....
