Just bought this TV and Blu Ray player with 5y warranty from Sony Centre Meadowhall. TV alone costs more at John Lewis.

Its not a one off.
Sony Centres have store specific pricing - the Sheffield Meadowhall Sony Centre still had stock when I collected last night. The price is clearly displayed at the front of the store.

if you go to the website and select Meadowhall as your local store the offer comes up online and you can have it delivered too ! http://www.sony.co.uk/bundle/40ex5bdps37tn.yg

am really tempted myself now
anyone got any reviews on the tv? - i've got a V series which has a good picture but this may be even better.
its coming up at 9,99 delivery 2-3 days or 19.00 nextday or 50.00 installed

strange- £800 most shops in essex but if you'll buy from basildon, it's £750...there are probably good reasons for this
#9
not sure if the 5yr guarantee applies if you order online - it doesn't say anything about it on the store page or website that i can find - will have to ring them tomorrow to ask
have read several good reviews for the TV

A lot of these Sony stores are franchises so I imagine it will be store/franchise specific. Amazing deal though.

You got a good deal and a great set then. I got the M&S deal on the KDL40W5810 earlier this year (£435 with 5yr warranty) but if I hadn't I'd have been straight over to Meadowhell to get one 'o these!!

This LCD is £648.90 here but only 1 year warranty and no BluRay Player:-

looks like this offer is £799.99 in most stores and lasts until 5th September. Should be easily found at £749.99 with a little travel.

judging by reviews, this is a great offer.

Now to get something to sit it on:-(

UPDATE!
Phoned the store this morning and spoke to the manager Daron who said that the 5 yr guarantee only available from the shop NOT online.

He agreed for me to buy it over the phone with £35 delivery and its coming on Tuesday. Tel no 01142568620

Looking at the reviews this is a total bargain and costs nearer £800 elsewhere without the bluray player or 5yr warranty.

Offer should be available for the next couple of weeks.

chihahua- are you within a reasonable distance of the meadowhall store? will they deliver anywhere in UK?
#16
Hi - no i live in Cornwall - shop arranged courier which is why it cost £35 but will be next day delivery as courier will collect from the shop on Monday - manager didn't seem concerned about the distance

Anybody buying this TV for gaming should read this review.... http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/sony-kdl40ex503-kdl40ex503u-20100603700.htm

Although it's great for TV and Films it has a 60ms lag in Game mode which is significant.

Blinding TV and at a super package price. Even at £35 delivery I'm tempted to get this and have it delivered to me in London. There are 3 sony shops within 8 miles of me, but all selling for £300 more +

Just to let you all know this has Freeview HD, so you get 3 HD channels and it's a 100 Hz panel. Not forgetting full 1080p. If you're not fussed about 3D (which many aren't) this set is future proof.

seems like a good deal, very tempting...hmmm....
#21
Just checked my local. the TV is 799 on its own or 749 with the Blu Ray player.

LOL wonder which one I should go for :p

will be a lot better than the V series, i actually didnt read particularly great things about the V's, good job its a 40" panel anyway, the 37" panels are worse (know cause i had one)..

if i had this kind of money though id be way tempted at picking up a lower end LED though....

S370, I presume?
