Hey Guys,

First time posting here but thought this deal would be worth sharing. Just let me know if I've made any mistakes.

Been looking around for a decent 42" TV for gaming and saw this. After checking out some reviews, the relatively low input lag (around 20ms) seemed pretty good to me and I went ahead and bought one. It's refurbished and doesn't come with the passive 3d glasses but you can pick them up fairly cheap on amazon or the likes, however I hear if 3d is what your after this may not be the best tv for you.

Still, hope it helps somebody out.

Passive 3D is great for those that get eye strain/headaches from active 3D (like me), you can use the same glasses you get from the cinema (at least they work fine with my passive LG).

This is a great TV. Got a new one from John Lewis today for £579 with 5 year guarantee and a Sony 3D Blu-Ray player. £399 is a very cheap price.

TIL that there are a few people who do not get eye strain from 3D.

If anyone gets eye strain from passive sets, they probably have something seriously wrong with your eyes and should get it checked out. They're nothing more than light filters.

Active is a different matter though.

A lot of people have no problems with active 3D, but a few do, hence my comment.
Not sure of the purpose of your comment...

Which 3D glasses would one require with these? Do they work with nvidia GPU cards? Is it suitable for 3D gaming? My nephew wants a 3D gaming monitor and this looks a good price but just not sure if it's suitable for his requirements.

Thanks if you have the answers.

....The stand is a wall mounting bracket (fixed). Although if you wish to attach a different bracket you will need the adapter from Sony.

£133 more after Quidco, say £100 for soundbar. That's £33 difference for a brand new set with the Sony glasses, plus if it went wrong within six years, buying new would carry more weight if you needed to claim under SOGA.

Also a 1 in 5 chance of winning a PS4.

I suppose so, I'd rather spend less money.

Any chance on an update on the TV. Did it meet your expectations?
