Has been this price for a while, good deal though.

If your lucky you can get John Lewis to price match and get a free five year warranty.

are you sure its the same model number.

Richer sound sold older models of sony 32" tv

Sony KDL-V4000 is what it says on the front and I know that as I am looking at it right now. :)

EDIT - Thinking about it, I may have price-matched it from somewhere else and then they beat that by another £10 but pretty sure it was that price marked up as Richer Sounds are always the cheapest anyway.

I contacted Curry's (although it was the general phone number) i asked if they will price match richer sounds and they said NO!!!

Would i have more luck going into a Curry's shop with the print out?
Anyone had any similar experience?

Does John Lewis price match too?
#9
John Lewis price match,
comet also price match

and definte currys do, they have notices next to their tv they will beat any price plus give you 10%,

you should have taken the name of the employer and make a complait against him to his manager (deprtment) get anther person reduntant, im sure currys would be delighted to save money.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone that's been successful with this. As John Lewis offer a 5 year warranty, did they price match the £359 or the £395?

Yes, before Sony started to raise its prices to retailers because of the weak pound sterling.

John Lewis price matched @ £329... with the 5 year warranty. But it is long winded and requires purchasing at full price and filling in a form whereby they go to the store (actually send someone) to check the cheaper price. However they take their time about it and if the item is no longer that price or sold out, they won't honour it.

Thanks for this information.

No problemo... Obviously pester them in store to see if they can price match on the spot. They will do it... just might take upto a week.

Why would you go running round for a price match, why not buy from the store with the cheapest up front price ?? :x
John Lewis are £439 for this set, Richer Sounds are £359 or £396 if you want the 5yr warranty. Which store deserves your business? :?
If you want to keep stores like Currys, JL, etc using over-inflated prices for the less well-informed, then go ahead, go price-matching, it's a tawdry business. When your pricematcher checks stock at your cheaper-priced shop you may/should well find that they have no stock.
It was cheaper from Amazon & co a month ago albeit for a matter of days at a time, but right now if you get it for less than 400 with a 5 yr gtee, it's a great tv for the price. Low stock everywhere though, and no guaranteed deliveries by sony to dealers now before xmas. :stocking:

The reason to price match with JL is JL give a free 5 year warranty wtth all their TV. Once you got JL to price match with 5 year warranty.

You can also get currys not only to price match but price smash giving anextra 10% to customer.

Also Richer sounds give an extra £10 after price matching.

The same tv was for £329 at JL, comet, amazon 1month ago (Nov 12th-Nov 24th)

few weeks ago it was for £329 at comet
and £322 at currys (they give 10% back to customer)
and £319 at richer sounds (they price smash and give £10)

another analyst stating their WONT be a price increase, it may come down more slowly, but wont go up.
#21
Anyone else tried to get currys and JL and comet to price match?
#22
Otherwise if Richer sound increases their price. Then it wil be tough to get the price drop from other companies.

I have sent emails around again and again, they seem to keep sending me emails back in circles.

Can someone else call them up plz

Amazon selling this for £326 they have 11 left in stock.

the reason for price match as Richard sounds- charge for 5 year waraanty and they dont deliver.

Whilst others deliver for freeand giv 5 year garuntee...it would be better to get them to price match

Just had a look, it priced at £373 on Amazon, the cheaper price £326 is a marketplace deal and for new/used items so not so good.
#28
yesterday at amazon there was one for £302 including delivery BRAND NEW (market place-amazon uk).

I called up Richer sounds- they seem to have LOADS of them.Thats why they selling it so cheap.

If we wait till new year.Jan/Feb/March. They will have no choice but to sell them cheaper price. To get rid of old inventory.

Iv asked Currys they will price match and give 10% differnce also+ free delivery.

Currys price is £489.

Richer sounds = £359

£489- £359= £130 = price differnce.

10% of price differnce = £13

Currys new price = £359- 13= £346 + free delivery

you wil need to ring up the nearest currys store that is nearst to Richer Sounds.

As thats whay my local currys store said.

Also Xbox 360 offer at currys + 3 games + 1 extra wireless controller= £175, reserve online. my mate bought this.

I saw this tv in Marks and spencer, house of fraser. and currys.

It looks ok, but not as good as the SAMSUNG.

The Samsungs look more shiny nice black piano. The sony looks old, dull. In every shop i saw it.

The spec on sony are better. But in watching the tv etc Samsung looks way better and it is about £40 cheaper. £319, £349 those kind of prices in shops.

Apart from price just the viewing of the tv what are other peoples opinion on the Sony KDL32V4000.

iv read all the messages on here, on AV forums on the web for the last few weeks.

I just want to make sure i make the right long term decsion before i buy this for my bedroom- to play PS3 games and to watch tv, movies.

Football on some occasion on sat night-match of the day- iv heard pic blurs on the sony??? whilst watching fast images.

Anything else that bad on the sony KDL32V4000.Dont wanna pay over £500 for a £32 KDL32W4500 is beutfiul but way too expensive for a 32".
