I have just been to John Lewis in the Trafford Centre and they have price matched the Richer Sounds deal. The Sony 32" is now marked as £299 which includes their 5 year warranty.

They have none in store but they had 11 in their warehouse two miles away which you could reserve. I just ordered one by phone. Bearing in mind this includes the 5yr Warranty this is a good deal.

Product Information
The Sony KDL32V4000 features the high performance Bravia Engine to guarantee vivid and high contrast images. Its complex noise reduction process enhances low contrast images until they are crisp, realistic, and rich. Dolby Virtual Surround Sound and 20 watts of power guarantee an involving listening experience, which will put you in the middle of the action.
A built in digital tuner means you can enjoy the numerous Freeview channels without the need for a separate set-top box. A table top stand is also included.

Picture in Picture (PIP) displays a small picture from another source, such as a VCR. So you can check the football scores while watching one channel or video. Theres also a Picture Freeze function so a still frame is displayed on the TV screen while the sound continues.

The PC input allows a PC to be connected directly to a TV without the need for a video graphics adaptor.

The KDL32V4000 is high definition ready which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

Excellent deal just ordered one for delivery 2nd Jan

This must be one of (if not THE) best 32" offer on at the moment.

Sony HDTVs are excellent and although this is not 1080p or 100hz is still a fantastic set for under £300 (inc 5 year warranty).

Maybe now people will understand why 'rola cola' sets like Vistron etc receive cold votes

HOT from me :-D
#11
just to let you know, the nearest warehouse is not 2 miles away, but is around the corner the cheadle branch, (it is in stanley green business park i think) so you may have to travel there to pick it up

i know as i used to work at the trafford branch!

Whats better, the middle of the range sony (this 32V4000) or the top of the range LG (32LG7000).

Its seems retailers are pricing them about the same now.

Come on, what more do you want for under £300? That's a steal at that price and 1080p is not necessary unless your going to sit about 2 inches from the screen!

Excellent Deal.

#24

I went for the 32LG7000. Its a better all-rounder than the Sony in my opinion.

No, I wasnt given a choice. It just says someone will contact me within 2 days to arrange a delivery date.
#30
Yep, took the plunge and gone for one - delivery Fri 2nd (nearly fogot to book this day off as well!).

I couldn't decide which 32" to go for:

Toshiba from Empire Direct @ £300
Samsung from Dixons @ £269 (but missed that code during 3hr special) - is this the same Currys have for £300 - series 4?
LG ...7000 that Currys & PC World are offering
and this Sony unit

I was tempted to pick one of these up from Richer Sounds earlier, but saw the queue and asked 'what are my chances?'

With JL's 5yr guarantee and free delivery, have I made a good choice?

Currently using the Phillips 32" Richer Sounds did for £300 back in Spring.

BTW - heat & rep added!
#31
Cheers for this, i ordered 1 from dixons yesterday with christmas sale code at 315 1 yr, just ordered it with here and canceled my dixon 1. save 20 note and get 5yr cover. well pleased
great info

I bought this T.V from the Trafford Centre on the 19th December for £379.

As this has been reduced does this mean I will get the remaining £80 back??

Here's hoping :?

Great Deal. I had ordered this TV with M&S a few hours ago, but I've just cancelled that order and placed a new order with JL. Well Happy!

:-D
#34
Can someone who know their stuff with TVs please advise?

I ordered the SAMSUNG LE32A456C with Dixons yesterday for £269.10 but I'm wondering whether to cancel that one and go for this instead. I know it's £30 more but it's a better make and a free 5 year warranty.

Maybe you'll find yourself cancelling your JL order and going back to M&S when they retaliate. :w00t:

Fantastic spot - was after this one from Richer Sounds but it was closed when i got there.,

And thank god too! Cos this deal has saved me paying out the extra £29 for the 5 yr warantee so v happy.
Also thought they'd have been sold out on JL, but no still a fair few left thankfully! Even now there is over 190 in stock...

Ordered, and heat and rep given. Being delivered on Fri 2nd January - earliest date to choose. Saves going into Trafford Centre branch.

Very happy! Thanks op

Don't worry, it's more than likely got something to do with your location and distance from a warehouse, you might even get yours earlier than the rest of us.
#39
Now that we've got the tv's on order, can anyone recommend an adjustable wall bracket?

thanks
