Was this price on RGB before Christmas. Newer models coming out soon to so this is definitely not hot.

the new tv (NX723) is going to retail at £1200 (u can pre order with trade in to get at 999), its basically the exact same thing with a different home interface.. ability to link up a sony camera to do skype, record through USB to hdd, and use as an internet browser

these are all the extras above and beyond just using it as a television which is what most people are going to do

at the end of the day the actual picture you are going to be looking at is basically the same thing (the 723 will have the x reality image processor.. which will no doubt do the same job and feature XR200 which is marketing **** for 100hz), i used to work in a sony centre till about yesterday and we were selling the 200hz hx803 at 699 after trade in, this is a bargain for this thing and the best looking TV sony have made imo which is an important factor considering they are also pieces of furniture

hot from me

No it wasn't! Bought this model before Christmas after doing extensive research, and it was a shed-load more than £599!

Great tv. Got ours before Christmas. We get extremely good streaming of LoveFilm and BBC iPlayer. Perfect with the PS3, Wii and Blu-ray player too. Love it.
Very hot price for a trade-in with 5 year guarantee.

Shame it doesn't include the 3D kit.

yeah thats the advantage of the new models, the 724 has built in 3d and wifi, though id probably go for the 723 since the router is near the TV anyway.

Apologies, it was boxing day. I was one of the lucky people to get a Sony KDL40NX503 for £360 after quidco rom Woolworthes on boxing day and was doing comparisons as that stage and found this for £599 at RGB.

Sold the NX503 because it was no better than my old Panny plasma but have since bought the amazing Philips 40PFL9805. Got it delivered free (it's grade A refurb) from here:

omg there is soo much confusion going on in this thread courtesy of flyingteddy's comment the 724 is part of the EX range (the **** range) to put it bluntly and the 724 in this range differs from the 723 in the fact it has WiFi, both of these models have the 3D transmitter built in, the EX724 is actually a sony centre exclusive so you will not find it online

to reiterate these will equate to 32" 40" 46" etc EX723 and EX724 and will not have derivatives in the HX or NX range, these sets (which have the higher contrast panel, makes a big difference to the blacks and contrasts) are to be the:

NX723 which will come in a range of sizes and be a 100hz monolithic (flush glass panel design) and WIFi built in
HX723 standard protruding bezel 200hz set, No WiFi built in
HX923 the bees knees full LED backlit set, 400Hz and WiFi built in, you can actually get the trade in offer on these on preorders which makes them pretty decent though still high end prices.. i believe all hx923 are the same though i cant quite be 100% on these as they are not a stocked item yet

this model advertised the sony 40NX713 has WiFi reciever built in, you will not need anythign additional to make it WiFi, the newer version of this set will have the 3D transmitter built in a slightly different interface and the other differences i previously outlined

i did work for a sony centre untill yesterday as i previously said and this is a good deal.. it would be nice to have the 3D kit free, but sony are actually releasing glasses that are a 3rd cheaper soon enough which will be 75quid full retail so the prices of all those gizmos if you want them are dropping

in resposne to comment above the NX503 is a complete different kettle of fish, an LCD with a glass fronted panel basically and a waste of sony and everyone else's time, ask me if you need to know anything about sony gear btw as i should know a bit by now and can be as loose as i like with my words

@Josprosho: I have got a few questions mate :-) hope you can answer.

First of all does the nx713 work with the android/iphone remote app sony have released?

Is the 3d performance on these any good? I have heard that ifd you move your head it loses the 3d.

Are there any firmware updates for the nx713 to allow it to have some of the features of the newer models e.g skype hardware recording (not really bothered but it would be nice extra)

will the nx713 work with the new 3d glasses (tdg br200 - i think)

Thanks for your help

in reverse order:

the new 3D glasses will work on the NX713, they charge in a riddiculously quick time aparently

i dont know anything about hacking TV's through USB sockets tbh, the only thing i know if about some of the lower spec LG's which can be hacked to allow for divx or mkv file playback.. not very useful here

the 3D performance is good, and with the demo discs in sum of the stuff looks awesome.. its expensive to get all the kit for though and the amount of material out there is fairly limited and with myself the novelty of wearing glases would definately wear off.. i played a fair bit of KZ3 in 3D and it looks great but just isnt the most practical.. i wouldnt buy all the gear myself

basically the active shutter 3D glasses which all manufacturers use are great from viewing 3D straight on and from angles but they all have a fatal floor in which if they are not looking at the screen in a horizontal position the 3D effect will be lost! so certainly no laying on your side viewing 3D.. this is the relates to the tilting your head issue

and yes the android app should well work with the NX713, though ive only seen it used on the newest models and it should make searching stuff in iplayer a lot easier
#37
How much cost expecting for HX923 and 46 inch.. ?
#38
46" is 1999 after trade in atm, is a preorder and coming otu at the end of the month ish, lot of offers running on blu rays and surround sound systems atm on these, 100 and 200 off respectively

I've got a quick question - have ordered KDL40NX703 from M&S for c.£535. Would prefer this model - NX713 - but I cant get to Essex for this instore deal. Should I go with the NX703 or are there issues with the picture? I could always cancel and wait because I think there might be more deals on the NX713 with the NX723 out now. Thanks
