The KDL-40W4000 is the latest model in Sony's series of LCD HDTVs, with a Midnight sky finish and Bravia Engine 2 technology. There are loads of bundles, free 5 year warranty etc too much to list!

The Sony remains the best LCD HDTV – in terms of both picture and sound quality – we've reviewed in 2008. We haven't seen the latest Samsung 5 and 6 series nor Toshiba's ZF range of LCD TVs, but equalling (let alone surpassing) the stellar performance delivered by the Sony KDL40W4000 will be no easy feat.

Why cold???

never said i voted cold, i voted hot as it happens. i am on the look out for a new tv sub 1k but as i want it for gaming and want a good viewing angle i will be looking for a plasma.

very nice telly - the bundles look good also. (esp s350bluray not sure if get the 3 bluray pack though)
Dont understand why warranty isn't free online though, think some stores have higher store prices too so this may not be true price.

oh yeah and its hardly the latest either :)

I recently purchased this set, it is fantastic, picture sound, the lot. Absolutely stunning on blu ray and ps3.

i'm tempted to get it, could you tell me what the viewing angle is like, i want to hang it on a wall and am concerned that people sitting to the side of it won't see the screen.

you can go at least 45 degrees off centre with no loss of quality. ours is in corner so cant really check bigger angles.
i like it too :)

I have mine wall mounted and the viewing angle is excellent where ever you view tv from. Put it this way, from directly underneath or from the sides viewing doesn't seem to change. I was caught between this set and the Panasonic freesat one, which my neighbour has and IMO the Sony is far superior. Doubt very much you would be dissapointed.
