Just take care in your search through various retailers/products to watch out for innocuous little lines like "Sony A grade" - ie that you realise you are considering a non-new product (and of course that Sony TVs often come with 3 or 5 year warranties elsewhere)!

The 40V5810 is avaialable Richer Sounds for £459 (£500 with a 5 year warranty) There are none in stock but had 3 in the warehouse earlier in the week. You have to go instore and ask them to order one to be delivered to the store for you to pick up.

the 40EX403 is available from Tesco for £539 with a trade in of any old tv. The website says no stock but the bigger stores round my way had them instore at the end of last week.

Also try your local Sony centre they are all doing independant deals at the moment (as they are franchises). Although expensive on the website their store prices are sometimes good as they too come with a 5 year warranty.
