I don't understand how people are voting this cold when a few hours ago the exact same tv had well over 550+ (HOT) votes and it was the exact same price from another store.
What am I missing?

True that, hukd is weird sometimes.

John Lewis, Costco and Richer Sounds are popular because they give you a 5 year guarantee, I would always check them as a matter of course.

Was £279.99 with a 5 year guarantee on Black Friday. It's a bad time to buy this TV so cold from me sorry.
#11
bought tesco with £20 off electricals making it £379.00 plus quidco with 5 year guaramtee

Don't Sony offer a direct 5 year warranty on all TVs? Even if supplier offers only 1, I'm sure a direct warranty with Sony is 5 ...

I just paid 365 for this exact tv at tesco. Ordered it Saturday with the £15 off £75 code. And then rang up this morning asking to change it to the £20 off £150 spend she misunderstood and added it to the order aswell! Well happy cannot wait for it to arrive! Its been 10 years since i bought a tv!

This is a great TV, particularly for gaming, one of the best sets out there right now for low input lag: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/input-lag. I have the 2013 Version of the Set (KDL42W653) and have been more than satisfied with it.

Also just to note, KDL42W706 and KDL42W705 are the same set, the only difference is 706 is silver and 705 is black.

Are you sure as it was the 32inch which was on £279 - I've been price watching these for the past week. The cheapest the 42inch got to was £399 @ John lewis ?

What's the difference between this and the KDL42W705BBU? I know one is silver and the other is black, but why does the black one have a lower product number?

There is no other difference, it is just the way Sony designates their TV's. For example the 2013 Models were KDL42W653 and KDL42W654 with no differences apart from colour.

This or Samsung 6400 series? For a bit more Samsung UE40H6400 is in John Lewis for £439. The Samsung was @ £389 on Black Friday as well
How do TV prices normally look on boxing day?

Tesco still have it in stock, plus £20 off = £379, plus 9% quidco = £345

Just put it in my basket and it suddenly jumped to £449. Rang to complain only to be cut off in the queue to speak to a manager.

Yeah I've also noticed it went up. Let me know if you get it at £399.

I am after this but the 50'. anybody seen anything?

Just got off the phone to Tesco CS. He spoke to a manager who blamed it on a delayed system update to Black Friday's prices and told me there's nothing they could do. Tried to offer me it for £429 (with the code). No way I'd consider paying that since I originally had it in my basket at £399. Even if they had offered me it for £379 over the phone I'd stiill miss out on the hefty 9% Quidco.

Thought I'd finally found the deal i've been looking for only to be screwed by Tesco.. Legends

I'm kicking myself. Could've ordered last night but chose to sleep on it. Anything else I would've just ordered straight away but due to it being an expensive purchase I thought it best to do a quick bit of research whilst fresh this morning. Then bang just as I was about to pay it came up saying OOS before jumping fifty quid. It never left my basket in all that time either.

Missed out on a bargain 32" Samsung Smart TV for £169 by a few seconds this time last year on Tesco Direct as well. My flat seems destined to have just one telly forever!

Brought mine from tesco for £369 on the weekend.

I would highly recommend getting one with 5 year warranty, if it wasn't for the warranty from a reputable company like tesco I would never have brought it. Seen a few Sony TVs fail so rather not risk it.
#38
This is a great looking TV but if you're looking for a bargain I would look at Finlux, They have a 42 inch smart TV for £299.99 and it seems pretty decent (at least according to the reviews I read).
#39
Any decent prices for the 32" version of this? the 42 is a tad too large for me....

Best tv for video games and sport. I own it and i love it. My ps3 loves it to.
