Sony KDL46z4500 for £1100 with a five year guarentee. This TV was selling at £2000+ when it was first released earlier in the year. It is still selling for £1649 on the John Lewis website but JL High Wycombe have it on undersale at £1100 which is a fantastic price for a 200mhz Sony large screen.

There are newer models around but these are at least £1500+ so this slightly older model is definitely worth considering. Should be able to get any JL to match the High Wycombe price as it is unlikely to be displayed at this price anywhere else.

Can't find this cheaper - please correct me if this is wrong?

Why is this getting voted cold? can it be found cheaper elsewhere with a 5 year warranty, or even without.

I have no idea why this is getting voted cold. It is an expensive TV but I still think it is a very cheap price if you want a higher end TV.

as someone who is looking for a big set , and doesnt know the finer points like some , there has been a lot of deals for big sets 42" -50" for around £600 -£900 since christmas , including the panny G10 , so probally why the cold votes
think tvs are dropping almost daily and the prices now will be the regular prices in months to come ,

This is a great price for one of the best sets on the market. The sound on this TV is top notch too. Oh well, let the masses have their Samsung sets.

why do people buy into this over priced branded rubbish, the LG PS3000 50" plasma make this Sony look rubbish.
and for half the price too goto comet etc and look at the two tv's side by if possible and you will see the LG range of Plasma and LCD tv's are much better spec and image than the Sonys and Samsungs, dont be blinded by the Brand names.

cold i'm afraid, if you want a reason it's because this is an old model set, replaced by the 5500 ..

I agree that there is a new model around but this is considerably more than £1100 so that is why I posted this model. You may also struggle to get hold of the new model now.

If you really believe that the LG range is comparable to Sony then I can see why you would vote this as cold. I don't personally agree with that.

Exactly, the most expensive LG won't be as good as this set as for looking at them side by side in comet lol, if the Sony Z series does not look better than the LG's or Samsung LCD's then comet must be at it.

And harvez shame on you for trying to fool people into thinking that lucky goldstar make better TV's than the top of the range sony's, I have an LG LCD and its good for the money but its not anything to write home about my Panasonic plasma wipes the floor with it as will the Z series Sony.

True Sony and Samsung share the same factory that make the panels but in the Sony LCD you get the Sony video processor and other electronics that Sony make for their sets onl, btw Samsung don't make them for Sony its a joint venture and I believe all 40" panels come from the same place. LG make panels for loads of other company's to but they are also not all LG TV's with a different badge, Panasonic were making the last Kuro panels for Pioneer but Pioneer add their own electronics. Pioneer also made the some of the panels for Runco until Pioneer stopped making PDP's.
