Sound quality

Boasting a specially designed 12 mm driver unit, the MDR-XB50APL allow you to enjoy clear sound reproduction every time you listen to your favourite songs. A powered Bass Duct delivers extra deep bass to enhance your music collection, bringing the sounds to life.

Neodymium magnets offer powerful sound delivery, meaning that you can lose yourself in your music no matter where you are.

Control

Compatible with all smartphones, the MDR-XB50APL feature an in-line remote and microphone. This allows you to take hands-free phone calls easily without having to detach the headphones to answer your phone.

Using the Smart Key app, you'll be able to configure the key to suit your preferences. Switch between the default setting and your own setting to make the most of the button control.

A practical choice, the headphones include a range of interchangeable earbuds so that you can find the size that suits your ears for comfortable listening. There is also a carrying pouch included, making it easy to transport the headphones even while you are not listening to music.

With a 1.2 m cable and closed acoustic system for your listening pleasure, the Sony MDR-XB50APL Headphones in blue are an ideal choice for those who enjoy music on the move.

Don't forget those good ol' cashback sites - 1.1% from TCB
Maybe 1.65% if it falls under an audio visual purchase

I've had these for around 15 months now and just a few things to note:

- The Sony logos on the buds themselves will fade within a month or two
- The sound quality is great but might be bass heavy for some
- The cable, in reality, sits somewhere halfway normal and tangle-free
- Build quality is great, as with pretty much all of Sony's headphones, or maybe I just got lucky: My previous pair (similar sound, different model) lasted around 30 months before one ear gave out and this pair is in it's 15 month running

Value for money is great. It's easily in the same league as my brother's Sennheiser Momentum in-ears and at a fraction of the price. I'd say go for this if you want bass and build quality and Soundmagic E10s if you want extra treble but a step down in build (they break so easily). The Sennheisers just aren't worth for marginally better sound quality.

I can see why some people prefer Currys/PCWorld.
