I've been looking for some decent headphones for a while and I couldn't believe my luck when I saw these in HMV Blackpool reduced from £99.99 to £29.99! The cheapest I can find them online is £124 so a pretty good deal for quality headphones. The build quality is superb and the sound is amazing! I would've been happy paying £99.99 but at £29.99 there's no other headphone in this league! They had plenty of stock not sure if the deal is nationwide though

Useful info:

Powerful, resonant bass
Foldable design
Take phone calls with a detachable cord
50mm neodymium driver
106dB/MW sensitivity and wide frequency range of 3-28,000Hz
1.2m cord

You should have cleaned them out and sold them on Ebay.

Anyone know the reason why HMV do not have an online store? Seems very strange that tehy do not trade online in this day and age.

Maybe it had something to do with going into administration a while back.

They used to do online shopping but I think it's the administration that they stopped their online store. It sucks big times all the Wii U games for a fiver are no where near me. Went into brighton hmv today while down that way and saw some head phones for cheap but nothing like this pair on the deal.

Beats mixers for 99 down from 130 etc. Think the headset above were 50 ex display with 20% off. Which I was tempted but the sound quality wasn't as strong as the mixers.

I've bought beats ear plugs which I hate too heavy and keep falling out plus short cable. So I'm a little against getting the mixers but they sounded pretty strong on an around performance. Will see what they got tomorrow when I get more chance to check em out.

It just seems to me like they are wanting to go under full stop. Selling items for £25 in store when they can get £100 for them online and still undercut all the competition....AND get some great coverage in the process.

If they really wanted to sell them at £25 then do it online and get loads of extra visits to your website, what is the point of a discreet instore sell off of a product that sells for 8 times the price everywhere else? The manager of that store needs to go back to McDonald's and flip burgers for a living!

Crazy company.

And.... some trader will clean them out.

The reason they don't have an online store is because they can't compete with amazon etc. Every time they put prices down amazon would undercut them even by 1p so they always come across as expensive, so the new owners decided against having a website so they can just focus in store sales. As a result certain things instore are quite a bit cheaper than online (obviously only helpful if there's a store near you.)

If the op can upload his receipt I'm sure you will be able to get John Lewis to price match (if they sell them in store) worth a punt

Just had a look but can't see them on the JL website :(

Utterly barmy price. I'm a bit of a headphone nut (although I calmed down after getting a set of custom made Beyer DT990 600ohm cans a couple of years back) - and while I prefer Sennheiser / Beyer, for £29.99 I'd have bought a pair for each day of the week if I could - just for a different sonic signature, and to save wear and tear on the Beyers :D

As has been said above, I don't understand their current business model at all. Congrats to those who manage to get them at this price though.

I'm starting to wish I had (_;) But at least there is (or was) plenty of stock for other people to take advantage of the price. They'd also reduced various other headphones but none that stood out like this one.

I completely agree! Even if they just did selected deals, this one for example would've quite easily sold for double the amount. Still, it's nice to be able to go in to town and still find a decent deal like this in one of the big stores.

Not sure if it will be of any use for price match etc but here it is.

I wonder if someone could buy a few and send them to people on here say brought for 30 and person paid postage and bit extra say 50 altogether. Both people could be happy.

Great deal I'm looking to upgrade my mono price headphones to something more comfortable.

If someone would like to hear anything else apart from overbassed noise while listening to the fav tunes i could recomend Sony MDR v6. Around £60 on amazon. Studio headphones

Weird thing is, if you go to amazon, search for these, change the colour to black, it is a different model and £36?! Other colours even cheaper. Same reviews, different model?

Yes as I pointed out in my post. Just strange how amazon have done it. They only usually group reviews and products together if they are the same

A few of us outside the store this morning. Needless to say they have all gone. There were only 2 left when they opened this morning.

Which store did you go to? I'll be in town later this afternoon so will call in to the Blackpool HMV and ask about these headphones, see if they're able to confirm which shops have stock and if they'll be getting any more at this price.

Just grabbed two from High Wycombe. One was out and when we asked if they had any more he checked and said there were several more in the back. We asked for two more and he only brought out one, saying that was actually all that was left. Seems a little fishy to me, but I'm happy nonetheless.

Hi
Thanks for posting SweeneyJ. Great find. Went to Westfield Stratford City London. They didn't have any in stock. So went straight to Bond Street main store and guess what? they had last one in stock. Got it :)
Bit of effort but not in vain. Will test these tonight. Thanks.

do I suppose to buy them because the rrp is 199???

Of course not, but if you did buy them, the instruction manual is written in better English than you have demonstrated!
#34
Wrong christmoll. You might have been looking at XB600 which is not the same. XB900 (black) is the same as XB910, but it's 91 quid cheapest on Amazon. I'd say the RRP is more like 99.

And these are FANTASTIC cans, the bass is so powerful I have to turn it down in the EQ. But it is ONLY FOR BASS HEADS, not for audiophiles who want both treble and bass.

Could it be balanced out for more balanced detailed sound? I currently use sony xba1 and love them but have been reripping cds in flac for a better sound quality and want to hear more if that makes sense.
