These are Sony, yes they are infrared and you need to be in a reasonable line of sight. However they are a hot deal based on the price that I've found them at. Can anyone beat this price for a brand new set.

I have the original version of this set from many years ago. I hardly ever used them but I was getting annoyed at having to listen to the kids TV programs all the time. I couldn't hear myself think. So I set them up and peace was restored until both kids wanted to listen to the TV. So I decided that I needed another set of headphones but being a Hot deal hunter, there was no way that I was going to pay around £30.

I stumbled upon the Play deal, they were out of stock at £14.99. So I assumed that they probably were a sell off item at that price and that they probably wouldn't get anymore in stock but I reserved them anyway. They turned up today and I found that the headset recieves the same signal as the original pair so I only have to plug the one reciever into the TV and now both kids can watch TV quietly.

They are excellent quality and probably the cheapest new pair available. Buy as many sets as you have kids and you need never be disturbed while you relax again.
