this is an unnecessarily big drive, i dont know why they made it so big when sony can make tiny ones too. Im talking physically big, not capacity.

The sandisk drives are smaller in physical size and cheaper (~£14 for 8GB)

These r small in my opinion. They are also extremely light compared to many other pen drives.

I bought the sandisk 4gb titanium and think it is well worth the extra money. Very sturdy and strong.

You can get the white 4GB Sandisk (including Skype software) for the same money:
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3297156/SanDisk-Cruzer-Micro-4GB-USB-Flash-Drive/Product.html

They also do the black 4GB Sandisk with ReadyBoost:
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3348406/SanDisk-4GB-Cruzer-Micro-USB-Flash-Drive-Ready-Boost-Enabled/Product.html

Sandisk are the dog's when it comes to USB memory sticks - extremely compatible and very reliable.

Voted cold.

What does compatible mean here? I've never had a USB data stick that was not compatible in that they would not work.

It all depends what you use them for!

For instance, if you are using a USB stick with an original Xbox and XBMC/Linux, you'd be checking this link:
http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/Xbox_USB_Compatibility_List

Take a look at the list of devices that are not compatible - there are some surprising entries in there such as Kingston DataTraveller etc.

If you're going from PC to PC, you'll probably never have a problem with one. Like I said, it depends on the application.

$ony.... What more to say... Of course hot hot hot :p

It is pointless to say any non-Sony product is cheaper than Sony's. This is really not helpful. The whole point of the Sony brand is that they spend far more money from R&D to production and then onto post sales support ; more than that for a non-brand item in most cases. So hot deal for a Sony and a cold deal at this price and size for an unknown brand.

Wow what a load of carap. Sony won't do any R&D on their Micro Vault's at all. Just as they do with their optical drives with liteon they will farm it out to another company who will develop the product and produce it and brand it as Sony.

It's suckers like you who buy Sony branded stuff which isn't even made by Sony and think it MUST be better than something that isn't Sony branded.
