whats the difference between the NEX-3 and the 3D ???
#4
why is this cold? its £30 cheaper than yday lol!?
#5
Wow another drop, hot.
#6
Hot from me. Outstanding bargain at this price.
#7
£399 is the dual lens kit. (£389 in red). This is really a good price. I bet Sony has shown a new model at the Photokina. I hope this will have more direct control buttons.
#8
The dual lens kit is the better option but this is a hot price nonetheless. 8)

This was reviewed on the Gadget Show last week and the presenters loved it. It took some very good photos!

Interesting comment - a lot of reviews (e.g at dpreview) comment on the manual controls being awkward to use and master - did you not have any problems?

it wasnt too difficult, but i wasnt using it to its full potential. I was more or less doing point and shoot and a few zoom shots with the 18-55mm lens. I found it easy to navigate menus and settings and overall a nice camera for some one looking for something inbetween the digital slr and compact

Lots of comments, but where is the flash on this camera. A flash can be handy sometimes

I suppose if it had to be under 100.. but some of the Panasonics under 100 are good.

If it's the best camera for under £100... I'm going to have to disagree...
Canon Powershot @ £89.99

I would rather a canon over a samsung any day of the week.

as for if it's better... it depends if you are look at facts and figures like mega pixels and zoom etc... or if you are looking at an actual picture.

For me it's the picture any day

not expired is it?, looks a class offer

on a different note id say you best value for money is the sony w80, pick one up about £30 for a value point and click its replaceable and well reviewed

This is very near the price of a DSLR.

Why would you want this in preference ?
#30
Brilliant price. I spent a lot more on the NEX-5 for my girlfriend, and it's a really excellent little camera. It really does remove a lot of the limits that a point and shoot imposes on you.

I wouldn't say the twin lens kit is worth it. The 16mm f2.8 lens just doesn't get that much use - the NEX deals with high ISO so well that you never feel the need for the extra speed, and the 2mm wider angle just doesn't warrant changing the lens.
#31
id snap this up personally if i had the money, in response to it being very near the price of a DSLR id go for this as i dont have any real DSLR experience and would believe this to be a slightly easy to use and a great introduction.. correct me if im wrong, i also like the size and styling of the dinkier body personally
#32

Are you serious??? You do realise the difference in sensor size between the Samsung and the Sony???

No, but seriously, the presenters on there are, at a rough guess, about 97% useless

i dunno i saw the bald headed guy doing sum break dancing and he was really suprisingly good!

John (the guy doing the review) actually knows what he is talking about when it comes to cameras. I would at least classify him in the prosumer category.

just starting out as a hobbie and not wanting to dive straight into a full sized DLSR maybe? Some people are frightened of something that looks that big in terms of a camera? plus....this does movie recording as well...most DSLR cameras dont

Good question, I'd imagine it'd appeal to people wanting a secondary camera with nearing DSLR quality but a far smaller footprint, although if the price drops another £100 I can see this selling amazingly just as a high end P&S
#39
Given you have to carry around the flash and some lens to get a reasonable zoom range would you not be better spending your money on the new Nikon P7000 or a bridge camera like the Panasonic FZ100 or FZ45?

So, how much would the pancake lens alone cost?

Whoa, good question... I found it on Amazon.co.uk and Jessops.

£215 and £219 respectively! So if you want the pancake lens, better go for the dual lens option. If I was to get this camera, I would want the pancake lens.

Edit: You can get the camera with only pancake lens for £369 for silver.
