Absolute steal for this, over £200 anywhere else.

Makro have a clearance sale starting today, stock levels are shown on the link for this player, reduced from £199 to £119 + VAT

They also have the NWZ-X1050 16GB version too, for £109 reduced from £149 + VAT, works out at £129.

However at £11 more for the 32GB version its a no brainer where the sale deal best is!

Has noise cancellation headphones included and reviews clearly stating its the best sounding DAP on the market, with a capacitive OLED touch screen to boot.

Reviews suggest that this has a poor internet browser interface and its at a high price compared to the Ipod Touch, however :

At this price its a steal, and realistically it should not be compared to the Ipod Touch as it doesn't support applications, however it makes up for it by trouncing it with screen quality and sound quality. If you want a media player for sound quality rather than applications, this is the right choice.

Also, there is a firmware upgrade which has improved the Internet Browser since reviews have trounced the function.

Not bad, although I don't know why people still buy these things. You can buy 32GB MicroSD cards for £90, 16GB cards for £30 and 8GB cards for a tenner, couple them with a decent phone, and you're sorted. Way more convenient. So many more features too.

Mainly because phones have their work cut out to be a decent Media Player, my Nokia 5530 isn't bad, but if you really want sound quality nothing beats a decent dedicated media player.

My mrs has one and she loves it. awsome battery life vs ipod and much superior sound quality. she uses this rather than her new netbook around the house and for that price is a nice buy

This is about the best mp3 player you can get. Sound quality is fantastic.

Great price! And an amazing quality mp3 player. I paid so much more for mine, and it was only the 16gb version. HOT!

Got the 16GB version last month when it was posted here, have to agree that the sound quality is superb and the screen is just fantastic.
#8
Please please don't compare this to ipod touch. It is solely about sound quality, nothing else. :)

Link still showing plenty of stocks in the majority of stores.

Presumably you haven't got one then as then you would know that a £90 memory card + a circa £50 phone = very poor sound quality in comparison.
I suppose if you were tone deaf then this may not be an issue ........ your confussion as to why people buy these any clearer now ?

Cheers OP. Picked one up from Nottingham. Sound quality is outstanding (and I'm coming from a N-Series Sony). This should be hotter than it is.

No problem, glad you found the heads up useful, surprised actually these have not been flying out the door at Makro looking at the stock levels, certainly 2/3rds the price of anywhere else currently.

Just about every review I have seen has commented on the sound quality being excellent, I myself have an older DAP the NWZ-A818 and found the sound quality on that to be great, this however surpasses it.

What it lacks without having apps it makes up for in sound quality which pretty much all Sony DAPs have done. Thrilled with mine, will leave the apps to my Mobile Phone.

Well apparently I had the last one from Nottingham, although the site still says 2 remaining. Not sure how good there stock levels are.

I noticed yesterday it was showing as 9 in B'ham, all day long, I bought one and checked this morning and it said 8 remaining, so I believe even though the stock level is meant to update each hour it doesn't and therefore shows the following day the proper stock levels.

However I was surprised after banging down the doors at opening yesterday that I was the only one that bought this in the B'ham branch, perhaps more have sold today.

Glad you managed to get the last one anyway from Notts and that the post was useful, if one person benefits then its been worth my time posting :)

Stocks are beginning to deplete now in stores.

Does anyone can help me buy one? I'm a international student so I can't register the trade card.
I'll very appreciate your support.

I cannot see how anyone really can help you if you cannot acquire a trade card. Unless anyone on here would be prepared to meet a stranger at whatever your local Makro store is of which you could go in with, then really you are at a loss.

I think he can buy then sell it to me with some profit on his side :)

Might be worth stating where your nearest Makro store is on here to see if any HUKDer is close, but firstly check the stock checker from my link on here, as your local Makro store may not have stocks left.
