It doesn't rival Ipod sound quality, this sony player is much better ! Amazing sound quality and includes two decent pairs of earphones.

best MP3/4 in which best buys list 75% rated

This Best Buy Sony MP4 player is small but perfectly formed. It’s easy to use, sounds great and has an excellent battery.

Three models are available, offering different memory capacities. The NWZ-A826 (4GB), NWZ-A828 (8GB) and NWZ A829 (16GB).

This is a sleek, attractive device with a small screen (4.9x3.7cm) that takes up much of the front. This allows you to view photos and watch videos, and while performance is fairly good for both, you’d be better off with a bigger display if you plan on watching full length films.

Sitting below the screen is a four-way control pad plus dedicated 'back' and 'option' buttons. This setup is similar to the controls found on many mobile phones and works well, making the player easy to operate. There’s also a dedicated button for switching Bluetooth on and off, but we were less impressed that the player uses a proprietary USB cable. This means you can’t use a standard cable should you lose the one that’s supplied.

The player turns on very quickly and offers long running times (41.5 hours for audio and 11 hours for video). Charging is speedy, taking just 2 hours, and it takes just under a minute to upload 100MBs of music.

Sound quality via the supplied headphones is very good, and you can also listen to your music wirelessly using the separate set of Bluetooth headphones that are also provided. Supported audio formats include MP3, protected and unprotected WMA and unprotected AAC, while video support simply includes MPEG-4.

Pros: Great battery life, easy to use, impressive sound quality, lightweight

Cons: Not Mac compatible
Rivals ipod sound quality, lol - 2 tins on a string will rival Ipod sound quality most other things beat it!
