Not 100% sure(doesn't mention in description), but I think this model comes with both the bluetooth wireless headphones and the superb wired headphones. Excellent value at £99.99 delivered, less if you include the RAC voucher and Quidco.

I have the 8GB model - it's superb. This is a bargain at £99.99.

Sony seem to be back on track now that they've dropped drm and sonicstage nonsense. Price drop probably paving the way for the new 32gb touchscreen model but this represents great value for money imho.

can honestly say, these Sony Walkmans are 10x better than Ipods. Better battery life, better menus etc. The whole finding songs on the Ipods with the sensor thing is annoying, it skips past what you want and you have to be really prescise and gentle to find your song.. HIGHLY recommend these Sony units

The sounds quality is out of this world as well, plus you get both the bluetooth wireless headphones (ideal for the gym) and the in ear canal ones (great for walking around or commuting) Voted hot!

That's true. The fact they've got bluetooth earphones, and the ear-canal ones that sit in so well is fantastic.

Sony have outdone themselves with this Walkman!

Wireless headphones are probably worth £40-50 alone, can be used as headset for bluetooth phones and ps3 too.

Do these Sony MP3 players incorporate drag-and-drop functionality?
#8
Got the 8 gig one for £79.99 or was it £69.99 from play with bluetooth speakers, kept the speakers, sold the mp3 player.
#9
I have the 8GB version and have the wireless speakers, both are quality. For £99 i think you should snap this up quickly. Heat Added

Edit: Yes they can be used with drag and drop

Hot. I was tempted enough by the 16GB A729 at this price a couple of months ago... I think it might just be time to say bye to the old Creative Zen Vision: M =O
#11
was looking at this earlier since my mp3 player has gone fubar

seems a good buy, was either going to splash some cash on this or go for the cheaper SanDisk Sansa e260 4GB MP3 Player for £24.99

I love my trusty Creative Zen Vision M, it goes everywhere I go...but am tempted to get one of these Sony players too.

ordered Sansa e260 at one point with Amazon at one point, within a couple of days the thing stopped working. This item doesn't receive great reviews from Amazon and other forum, a lot of people having similar problems as me. Sandisk sansa is not very stable. With Sony quality is assured and I've been eyeing for Sony 16Gb player for sometime now. Only complaint with Sony is that it doesn't have a memory card reader for future expansion.

Thanks for the post. Really hot!

Where can you get it at that price?
I found it - http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/1148003/SanDisk-Sansa-e260-4GB-MP3-Player/Product.html

Might have to buy one of these.

Will it play DivX files? Play say 'Most popular video formats'

Unfortunately I'm one of the ones that got sonicstage :-(. with the wifi radio/speaker set.

They do, but if it's similar to my 4GB NWZ-A816 you'll need to transfer the music via Windows Media Player if you want to display the cover art.

Seriously hot! Wish I had the cash to buy one :(

Nice one.
Been looking for a replacement for my Nano & very nearly bought another iPod but this changed my mind. Just ordered meself one & voted hot....
#21
Gone for one of these.. cheers
#22
does this play FM?
#23
**** !!! I bought the 8Mbprevious version several months ago and paid quite a bit more.
A fantastic product, though I must say I hardly ever use the bluetooth headphones, fabulous bass and brilliant if you are sitting down but not very good when you are on the move, (walking//jogging)
White hot!!!

No, unfortunately not.

Had a A729 (non-bluetooth) for Christmas, best pressie for years, easy to use and best sound I've heard.
#26
What's the headphone jack? 3.5mm?
#27
What size is it? Is it similar to a Nano? I'm starting to run a lot and want one of those arm strap things and want to know if it will fit.

Little tip: I use mp3Tag to "embed" the cover art into the mp3 file. This allows me to drag and drop my music onto my NWZ-A818 with the album covers intact without using WMP. Hope this helps.

Geat deal, BTW, nicks99.

Cool, cheers for that Nicks99...That gives me a rough Idea. I was going to buy a Nano this week, but glad I held off and found this :)

I'd be interested to find out from any current owners whether you can output to both the wired and wireless headphones at the same time?

I'm actually sitting here listening to my 8gb over the sony bluetooth speakers. I just plugged a set of earphones in to check and no, they wont do both at once.
#33
Oh well, I suppose the power consumption/battery drain would be fairly hefty, but would be nice to have had the option.
#34
Thanks ordered one. +heat added

Any idea on the battery life on those bluetooth headphones?
#35
this is a great price, if the sound quality is as good as the S Series ones then you are in for a treat, way more advanced than the apple ipods from experience.... I would have gone for this if I didn't already have a 16GB S series model.... Hot....

I actually tried to run my battery dead the other night so I could fully charge it from scratch to see if it would fix the troubles I'm having with mine. I put it on at about 8pm through my laptop and then set 13hrs of music to make sure it kept going all night. The headset was still going the next morning when I woke up!
#38
ordered one, got 5% of so was £94.99

hopefully i don't have to wait too long :)
#39
hot, ordered, I can not even wait, do they deliver MP3 by next service? anyone knows?

Just ordered mine with Quicdo and RAC Voucher....cheers
