What is it with people? At least 2 of you have voted cold, but are too ashamed to explain why.

If you can find it cheaper, please let us all know where. If you cannot find it cheaper, then please go and read the forum's rules on what voting cold means!

BealBocht, I ain't voted, I ain't voting but you cannot tell ANYONE how they can or cannot vote. If they want to vote cold they can/will and vice versa. As for the rules, they've probably been read by admin and a couple of the Mods that can read, that's it.... other than those that are a n a l-retentive! Obviously we cannot write a-nal-retentive, I mean imagine how shocking that is!!!!!!! This site is PPC... Pathetically PC.

This is very common here people vote cold with no reason, i voted lukewarm as it is good for people who are after this netbook with 3g and gps however it is a very expensive netbook with a small screen, the high resolution on such a small screen is pointless i think, 1600x768 is typically found on 22" monitors.

How about -5 to +5 rather than hot or cold. And how about getting rid of those stupid oranges and showing exactly how people vote, the oranges mean very little once you've made a few hundred posts, it would be far more relevant to see what sort of a voter members are. Could be the same, Voting Rate: +2.1 or -5 for example.

Sorry OP for crashing your topic, I vote +2.0 ;-)

The screen resolution is what's hot about this for me, not that i'm going to buy one. Not everyone's eyes are crap.

I had a fiddle with one of these in Marks and Spencers. I agree the resolution for screen size is a bit small, but it's better than the usual 1024x576 10" netbooks out there. I'm a big fan of high res and run my 21" CRT at 1920x1440 and people complain things are small when they use my PC. I'd have it at 2048x1536 if the image was still sharp and it didn't look flickery. In fact I am somewhat annoyed at the lack of high resolution LCD's per inch available on the market, they all seem to be geared towards an "average user". Battery life is a bit poor, but you can't really expect more out of something this size. I still think the unit as a whole is great. Would take a bit of time getting used to rubbing the rubber nipple in the middle of the keyboard :w00t:

I like it..

I bought a red one from play.com for £10 more on Tuesday, seems a great price given the £150 cashback and Win 7 upgrade.
These 1.3 GHz Atom models seem to be getting reduced so the new faster (upto Atom 2 GHz, bigger hard disks) models can be launched, but they will cost a lot more.

Many of the reviews discuss this model running slowly using Vista, but a good improvement under the Win 7 beta and RC, so I am hoping performance will not be an issue after the upgrade.

Note battery life with the standard battery is not meant to be amazing (a little over 2 hours under load), however you can buy an extended battery for about £120, or buy the next model up (Sony Vaio P19WN/Q) for £100 more which comes with both the standard and extended battery and Vista Business (instead of Vista HP with the P11Z) but only comes in black.

I vote cold - the Sony Centre in Leamington Spa is selling these for £549, same price as Dixons Tax Free shops - and both are valid for claiming back £150 from Sony.

Suggest you try your local Sony Centre

You could try one of the variety of 10% + vouchers from Additons etc. and 10% quidco and the sony cashback. Official Additions price is £579. Takes the final price closer to a more realistic £320.

That is a very good price. Unfortunately the Sony Centre in Tottenham Court Road (where I bough my P11Z from Mikro Anvika) wanted £649 before cashback. I think that the Sony Centres are franchises these days, so they can probably set their own prices.

I would normally exclude Dixons airport shops (they are not really "tax free") from deals, as they are located airside and so are only available to people who are flying, but as you say they also have this PC for £549..

Price: £1761.32
266 Mhz Celeron
64mb ram 6.4gb HD space (both no doubt half the speed of today's memory and hard discs)
1024x480 screen
1x usb v1, firewire, Infra red
2 hour battery life

Crikey! Shows you how much things have come on!
