Not bad price if you like the games, dont forget the Nectar points 2 per £1 spent in sainsburys, approx £5.50 of points.

There's a load of deals on at the mo for ps3's. I got mine in HMV at £293, got blu-ray movie, blu-ray remote and Motorstorm pacific rift and call of duty world at war. I preferred it as they let me pick any 2 games at £39.99 and under. Dont fancy lbp or resistance myself.

Never even thought about nectar points, Yeah theres lots of bundles around at the moment.

This seems to be about the current going rate now, so i wont vote hot sorry!
#4
I agree, it seems around the current rate. I got it from Argos for 279 just before Christmas and I have to say that I sold two of the games on ebay for £20 each and kept the third (Resistance) and it is one of the best games I have ever played!

I've just had a look at all the big retailers websites (amazon, play, argos, game, gamestation, hmv, etc). The best i have found for a ps3 80gb with 3 games is £289.99 from play.
I know there were similar priced bundles before christmas but i can't find any this cheap with 3 games right now, Obviously retailers tend to offer better deals before christmas to get good sales (but christmas has finished).
#6
:p It is still a good price and I gave you heat but the January sales are on and you would expect a better drop in price. pleased I didn't wait until after Christmas :-D
#7
tempted buy this as i get 15% staff discount aswell, are the games any good
#8
yep abouts the going rate at the mo, voted hot, heres still hoping for a price drop, any one know if there will be further price drops?

No, PS2 backwards compatibility has been cut completely from all current PS3 models. Your only option is to either keep a PS2 hooked up or track down a launch PS3 unit.
#13
My local Zavvi in Norwich were doing £269.99 for a PS3 80gb bundle today
#14
can you connect this with scart has havent got hd tv yet, got a toshiba 36zp which just refuses to go wrong
#15
Launch 60gb consoles play virtually all ps2 games thats it. This is a good deal at the moment but there will be big ps3 price cuts over the next few months due to the poor sales over the crucial christmas period.

It comes with a composite AV cable and SCART adaptor (like the PS2), so yes.

What are the chances of this bundle being in my local town of Folkestone?
#18
Good price. Voted hot.

(Zavvi have these for £270 without the games).

Pretty likely I'd say, seeing as it's been advertised in the national press since sometime last week.

Fantastic price, fantastic games.

Only the 60gb lauch console plays PS2 games - but there are so many fantastic PS3 games about theres no real need to play PS2 games.

been looking for the right ps3 deal to come up for a while and the price drop surely they wont drop by to much as they hve the blu-ray players built in? ,as said before i think play have a better selcetion of bundels at the same price
still hot though :)
#23
Is it actually worth hanging on to the new year though?
Surely the only thing that will happen is that the deals may become sweeter (i.e through an extra game in, but keep the same price) as the actual price of a PS3 won't be reduced until at least easter.
I've been looking out for a while now and the deals have been roughly the same as this one for at least a month or so. I'm becoming more and more pessimistic over the chances of anything getting cheaper.... but im still holding my breath.....
#24
ha! same as me, got a feeling its going to be the same in jan, no harm in waiting till then :)
#25
yes it is!! think about all the hours of ps3 fun over the next few days!!!
#26
The reason why these might not come down any time soon is because the pound has lost alot against the yen. Sony are increasing prices on electronics, they have said they will not increase the price of the PS3 but discounts are unlikely:

Does anyone know if the hmv ps3 + 3 games bundle are online only or in store as well?? and do their stores usually have some instock?
#29
with my friends 15% discount, this is great
#30
yea same as, mate picking it up for me tmw. is this in london or luton?
#31
hot deal

i dont think there will be any better deals coming, the PS3 is $400 in the states which is around the £250 mark (£245.41 to be exact (according to google i dont think it is quite that bad though, another currency converter i tried said £274)) but electricals have always been slightly more expensive here than in the states and with the current finincial climate the exchanage rate is not going to get much better so there will be no price cut except maybe the odd fiver that we have been seeing since...well...the PS3 launch. Ergo we will not get better deals in my opinion.

Anyway if you dont like the games im sure you can get decent money for them from cex or gamestation
#32
Ouch stick to an xbox better online and much cheaper.

This is the Blockbuster deal.

Deal expired. Drove down to my nearest large sainsburys store and read the small print..." Deal ends 24th december..." ah well....
#37
I just phoned my one and they told me it was little big + 1 of those other 2 , but not all 3
#38
What about buying a PS3 from CeX? They come with a 12 month guarantee too. Not advertising obv, just asking for opinions...

Its an option, you can always take out the PS3 care cover in the unlikely even it breaks down.
